We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeff Stevens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeff, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I was always drawn to art and design. From a young age I knew I would be the most comfortable doing something in an artistic related field. Currently I’m working in adverting and focusing on developing my fine art practice.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started out in graphic design and advertising. I was lucky enough to have designs chosen for big movie campaigns. I’ve worked on and provided art work for Star Wars, Hunger Games and The Marvel Universe. Right now I’m moving towards contemporary art and building a practice around exploring larger works on canvas and using a blend of media to create artistic imagery for galleries, private clients and various other spaces.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well that’s a bit of a tricky one considering the time. We’d probably try to keep things outdoors, hit the slopes, go hiking, or snowmobiling. Small home cooked dinners and cocktails at home.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Art Base and The Launchpad are two galleries that gave me a chance to showcase my work in the early stages.
