We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Sezionale Basilicato and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenna, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I used to relate to this concept of work life balance in a more compartmentalized and polarized way. There was a work Jenna and a play Jenna. As I have stepped more and more into my calling and living an aligned life, I don’t feel the same tension and struggle I used to. I have started to experience more balance in the day to day and in every moment. The parts of my personality have become more integrated which means I am able to listen to my needs in a deeper way in every moment. This allows me to respond and take care of those needs in real time instead of having angry parts of self show up to get their needs taken care of.

What should our readers know about your business?
Rooted Expansion is a village of heart centered practitioners that have chosen to not only come together to provide integrated holistic healing but also to heal together. What is so unique about Rooted Expansion is that we have 18 modalities available to our friends on the path (commonly known as clients) and we weave together unique packages tailored to meet friends on the path where they are. I have personally worked with 2-3 practitioners at a time for the last 3+ years (e.g. coach, therapist, body worker, acupuncturist, astrologer, dream worker) but I have had to find each one separately. The idea to provide integrated holistic healing was inspired from desiring a team of support for me, a team that all communicate and support me on my path. We provide this at Rooted Expansion. The other thing that is so unique about Rooted Expansion is that to be a practitioner, there has to be a willingness to heal in community. This means being seen and witnessed in vulnerability by your fellow practitioners. One of the requirements to be a practitioner is to be a participant in a healing group at least once a year with fellow practitioners. We must keep doing our own work and own that we are also students of life. Rooted Expansion is a living prayer and question: what does it look like to heal and serve in community? It is a portal to wholeness, truth and to support friends on the path in living an aligned life. Rooted Expansion is a brave space to explore the parts of Self undiscovered or that have been fragmented and outcast. Rooted Expansion is here to support friends on the path and practitioners alike in accessing their unique gifts and stepping more and more into unique essence.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them on a hike, do a park hang and invite all my friends, maybe go on a camping trip, or go to a sound healing or maybe a breathwork class. I would create opportunity for depth, connection and fun. One of my favorite things to eat is Peking Duck so maybe we would splurge and I’d take them to my favorite Peking Duck place in Denver. I would want to show them what it’s like to live in Denver and to be in my local community.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I appreciate the opportunity to share my story and it feels important to honor my co-founder Bailey Johnson. I feel so grateful for our deep partnership and sisterhood,

Some of my past wounding created stories of martyrdom, that I have to do it alone or that I have to hold it all. I have been learning that these stories are simply not true and my partnership with Bailey has taken my knowing of this Truth, that I don’t have to do it alone, to a whole new level of embodiment and understanding. I have been waiting to play with someone at this level of manifestation and creation and I’m grateful to get to do it with Bailey!

Bailey is my work wife and co-parent of the organism Rooted Expansion. Together we are committed to stewarding the vision and facilitating the manifestation of Rooted Expansion. Bailey and I talk everyday. We get together every week (multiple times a week) in person, share our hearts, and devote ourselves to the Rooted Expansion of Rooted Expansion 😉. I feel Baileys deep care everyday. I can’t begin to express the depth of Trust and how good it feels to be in this together. This is the essence of Rooted Expansion: togetherness, heart centered, commitment to healing, remembering & integrity.

I also want to thank my beloved fiance (soon to be husband in a couple weeks!) – he encouraged me to found Venture Beyond, my first coaching practice. I am so glad I took the leap and did not delay my calling!
