We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Zamora and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My business grew from my passion that derived from the frustration I felt trying to take my pictures of my own newborn baby. Once I realized that this is something that requires a special skill set within photography I had to learn more and I fell in love with it in the process.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Newborn photography is an extremely specialized type of photography, differing in all things from light, posing and styles. These tiny beings deserve to have specialized care. Tiny Details Photography is different from other Denver area photographers in that we only offer newborn photography. Maternity, milestone, and cake smashes are exclusively available to newborn customers. This exclusivity allows us to be the expert in newborn photography.

Achieving this skill and successes I’ve accomplished so far has not been easy, but it has been work I have thoroughly enjoyed. It has been a privilege gaining knowledge from my mentors and I truly learn something different with every client and baby.

The most valuable lesson I believe in is to be true to yourself. Besides my family and my giant pink coffee cup, owning a decision and seeing it to completion are two of my biggest keys to success in my business. My husband and my girls support me so much and it really allows any business to thrive when the main players in a family have each other’s backs completely. My partner and I want each other to succeed in what makes the other fulfilled.

Tiny Details doesn’t want our clients to have to worry about any aspect of their experience. We know that those first weeks of life are full of cuddles, welcoming a new life into your home, exhaustion, and a bit of survival. We do not want to add any additional stress and provide an elite full service product.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Colorado! I personally love the Aurora area and say you never have to leave and you can get anything you want. So let me take you for a trip in Aurora

Stay at an Airbnb by the aurora reservoir. This is a great place for peace and quiet while still having access to great running and biking paths. You’ll have great views! This will put you near the Southlands mall, which is a great place to pick up anything you may have forgotten to bring along or just some casual shopping and dining.

Do try Bookends for a masterful hamburger and a cocktail. Monsoon for some Indian Cuisine, Saag Paneer here is divine!!

During the day I recommend hitting up the free history museum and shopping at Stanley Marketplace. You could spend a whole day at Stanley between all the great restaurants and breweries and never ending sustainable stores. I personally recommend Maria’s empanadas and definitely try the Franklin sandwich with both gravies from Denver Biscuit Company. Grab some jewelry from the store closest to the hanger, because it’s beautiful! There is an amazing playground for the kids, plus the whole family can enjoy some Sweet Cow ice cream.

For nightlife, I’m all about that karaoke scene. You can find karaoke at any given night in Aurora. And there’s a good chance you’ll catch me there too.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am so very thankful for my start into the photography business. I was fortunate enough to have my newborn and family photos taken by Devin Jones photography. She was amazing and who I reached out to when I had an interest in the field. To my amazement she not only was willing to meet and share her advice and experience she even helped supply me with some of the tools I still use today. I can not explain the impact that her kindness had on me and this business.

I also want to thank another dear photographer friend, Samantha, owner of Simply You Photography, she helped give me some guidance and even helped come up with the name Tiny Details. It can be scary starting a new business especially when all you wanna do is take pictures of babies, but I am so thankful for those who took the time out to help guide me through in the beginning.

A big part of Tiny Details Photography success is the ongoing training, support and mentorship we receive in an ever changing market. And a huge shout out to all the Tiny Details Photography Assistants, It couldn’t be done without you.
