We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Usaj and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenny, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I felt that starting a business provided a unique opportunity to build a community-based brand; build strong community partnerships, offer an expert level of customer service, and curate a collaborative culture. These are the guiding principles and foundation that Usaj Realty was built on.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I was young, I would help my dad with “fix and flips” in Houston, Texas. I kept this time as a memory and pursued other career opportunities until my husband, Anton, encouraged me to get my broker’s license. This re-ignited my passion for this work and together, Anton and I opened Usaj Realty. Starting your own business is never easy, but opportunity will present itself if you’re coming from a place of love and connection. Looking back at Usaj Realty’s success, the top three factors driving our growth are keeping our commitments, adding more value than expected, and producing the client’s desired outcome on time. We strive to create raving fans! My personal recommendation for other aspiring Realtors or business owners is to cultivate a habit of working out and meditation. I’m committed to balancing my life and prioritizing my personal wellness. This helps fill my cup so I can let the rest overflow.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Denver makes this an easy task! We’d start by grabbing a coffee from one of my favorite local shops, Little Owl. From there, we’d head over to Commons Park which is a great place to relax, catch up with a friend, or picnic. I love crossing over Highland Bridge to indulge in something delicious from the iconic Little Man Ice Cream. No day would be complete without stopping for a rooftop beer at Joyride Brewing! After a couple of days spent in downtown Denver, I’d highly suggest heading up to Vail where the hiking, biking, shopping, and dining is one-of-a-kind. Between Denver and Vail, I know my friends are going to have an unforgettable experience!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am constantly inspired and encouraged by the people around me as well as some of my business and life mentors. These mentors include Tony Robbins, Donald Miller, Larry Kendall, Sara Blakely and my family. As mentioned, my husband, Anton, encouraged me to get my broker’s license and I am so grateful he did. With his support and hard work, we opened the brokerage together which also opened up so many opportunities in our lives and our broker’s lives.
