We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Cain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand has been staying completely authentic—true to who I am, no matter what. That means showing up for my clients with honesty, empathy, and a genuine love for what I do. At the core of Three Little Birds Aesthetics is a space where everyone is welcomed, celebrated, and treated like family.

That includes helping people feel safe in what can be really vulnerable moments—like a first-time Brazilian wax. For a brand-new client, laying on that table for the first time can feel intimidating, and I take that seriously while also knowing how to lighten the mood. Whether it’s cracking a joke or gently talking them through each step, my job is to hold space—judgment-free, compassionate, and kind—so they leave feeling empowered and proud of themselves. We laugh, we breathe, and sometimes it ends in a hug. Because honestly? That’s a big deal! (and we all need more hugs!)

Staying true to the brand also means being results-driven while making sure my clients know they’re not just a number—they’re truly part of something special. I stay educated and ahead of the trends, but I’m careful to distinguish between what’s just hype and what’s truly beneficial. I never recommend something unless it serves a real purpose in their skin or self-care journey.

At the end of the day, success for me means creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and absolutely cared for—where they’re not just getting a service, they’re gaining a trusted partner in their self-care journey.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Three Little Birds Aesthetics is a hand-curated boutique that has grown and evolved alongside my own life—from a small booth rental before my first son was born (he’s 21 now!) to a warm, welcoming space that serves not only clients, but fellow professionals who are building their dreams too. What started as a solo venture has become a communal environment for growth—physically, emotionally, and professionally.

This space isn’t just about beauty—it’s about connection. It’s about holding space for others, whether they’re here for their first Brazilian wax (which yes, we’ll laugh and breathe through together), or they’re a fellow provider needing mentorship, encouragement, or just someone to remind them they’re not alone in this journey.

I now offer rental office space for like-minded professionals, mentor new estheticians, and I’m in the process of building a platform for small business coaching—because we all need support. The same empathy and care I pour into my clients, I now offer to other entrepreneurs navigating their own path. We grow better when we grow together.

But the road here hasn’t been smooth or simple. It’s been full of highs and heartbreaks—raising three boys, walking through divorce, caring for aging parents, and learning to run a business through all of it. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is grace. The grace to allow myself to grow, to pivot when life calls for it, and to understand that the seasons of life are fluid. We’re not meant to have it all figured out at once. We’re meant to flow—and the moment I stopped fighting the current and started moving with it, everything shifted.

That mindset led to real, tangible changes—like introducing memberships to support both clients and myself through financial ups and downs, and making self-care more accessible without compromising value. Through it all, I’ve never stopped educating myself, staying at the forefront of both industry trends and client-centered care—always asking, “What’s real, and what’s right for the people I serve?”

At the heart of it all, I want people to know: this is a place where you’re seen, supported, and treated like family. Whether you’re a client coming in for a service or a fellow pro chasing your own dream, you are welcome here. You are safe here. And you are never alone.

Three Little Birds Aesthetics is my life’s work—and it’s a living, breathing reflection of everything I believe in: authenticity, community, and the quiet, powerful act of showing up—again and again—with love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is such a fun question—and perfect timing, because my bestie and I are just about to head out on a girls’ road trip for some much-needed connection, laughter, and wide-open Colorado skies.

We’re starting off in Salida, one of those sweet little mountain towns that feels like a breath of fresh air. We booked the cutest Airstream at a boutique roadside motel—it’s giving major vintage charm with all the cozy vibes. We’ll hunt down a great local spot for dinner—somewhere with a fun mocktail menu (because we’re both loving the non-alcoholic life lately), good conversation, and maybe something with a spicy ginger or herbal twist to keep it interesting.

The next day, we’re headed to Monte Vista to see Muscadine Bloodline play at the rodeo. We’re both huge fans of live music, and there’s just something about small-town concerts that hits different—less chaos, more heart. It’s exactly the kind of soul-filling, boots-on-dirt, sing-your-heart-out kind of night we both need.

We’ll stay the night at Mellow Moon Lodge in Del Norte, another little gem with dreamy aesthetics, quiet comfort, and the perfect energy for unwinding and laughing in bed until midnight. You know the vibe.

On the way home, we’ll stop at the Great Sand Dunes National Park to stretch our legs and soak up some nature therapy. But first—savory breakfast and strong coffee at a tucked-away local spot. We’re talking eggs, potatoes, green chile (because we’re in Colorado, obviously), and maybe something with fresh tortillas if we’re lucky. No muffins for us—give us flavor and spice any day.

This kind of trip is my favorite: nothing fancy, but so full of life. It’s real, it’s nourishing, and it leaves you feeling recharged in the best way. Honestly, it’s the same energy I bring into my studio at Three Little Birds Aesthetics—a place where connection, comfort, and good vibes are front and center. Whether it’s over skincare, waxing, or girl talk—we’re building memories and restoring our spirits, one moment at a time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
