We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Taussig and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I think a lot of it comes from the fact that I’m left-handed—my brain just naturally leans towards creativity. Growing up, I had to learn a lot of things in my own way, which taught me to problem-solve differently. Starting my own business was a chance to fully embrace that creative side and apply it in ways I hadn’t before. I had an incredible mentor who shared some truly elevated business practices with me, and that’s been the backbone of my journey—I’ll always be grateful for that. Launching my home organizing business has been such a joyful experience. Each project is a new puzzle, and I get excited to put everything together! I get to discover my own style while helping others create spaces that are not only functional, but genuinely bring them happiness. That’s the part I love most: blending creativity and practicality to make homes feel like they truly belong to the people who live in them.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I know so many of the organizers in town, and they are all complete rock stars. Whenever I don’t have the bandwidth, I’m always happy to refer clients to these amazing women—I know they’ll take great care of them. It’s hard to turn people away because I want to help everyone!

One thing that really sets me apart is how I try to make decision-making easier for my clients. I don’t believe in offering too many options because I know how real decision fatigue is. Instead, I focus on recommending the best products and systems to keep a home organized. Every project comes with its own challenges, and I love finding ways to overcome them and problem-solve on the fly. I always stay honest and true to my clients, which is so important to me.

One big lesson I’ve learned is around time management. Sometimes, even if I’ve quoted what I thought was enough time, I realize on-site that it’s going to take longer. I’ve learned to be flexible, to pivot quickly, and to offer new solutions if needed. My clients have been amazing throughout this process—they’re always so understanding and willing to roll with the punches.

These days, I’m much better about asking for help if a project feels like it might be too big for just me. I’ve learned to trust my instincts, and past experiences, and that has been huge.

Ultimately, the one word I want people to think of when they’re in their home is joy. If that’s the feeling they have when they’re living in their space, then I know I’m making the difference in the world that I truly want to make.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver has so many gems, and in a week you can really get a great feel for the city! First things first: food—my favorite part! I’d definitely start with brunch at Safta. It’s such a cozy spot with delicious food, perfect for easing into the day. For drinks and a fun patio vibe, I’d head to either Edgewater Inn or Improper City. And when it comes to the best city views, El Five and 54 Thirty are both musts—you can’t beat those panoramic scenes.

You’ve got to get outside, too. There’s nothing like a good hike to take in the Colorado landscape. My favorites are Chimney Gulch in Golden and Mount Sanitas in Boulder—both are beautiful and really showcase the natural beauty of the area.

For art lovers, the murals around RiNo are such a fun way to explore the city. They’re perfect for snapping some colorful photos and taking in Denver’s creative side. And of course, if you’re into live music, you can’t skip a show at Red Rocks or Mission Ballroom (just don’t forget your earplugs!).

Overall, there’s a great balance here between city fun and outdoor adventure—and no matter what, you’re surrounded by some of the most interesting, welcoming people. It’s a city that’s easy to fall in love with!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh my goodness, first shoutout to my amazing therapist! She truly helped me discover my purpose and gave me the encouragement to explore this new venture. At the same time, I was part of a fantastic book club where we read Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty—this book is a must-read and really helped me find clarity and direction in living my best life. I’m also so grateful for my wonderful family and friends who listened to every high and low. I think I called my parents who were entrepreneurs (side note, can anyone spell that word without using spell check? or is that just me?) at least a million times to make sure I was doing the right thing, and they gave me the best advise. They were there for every little detail—like picking out my logo, giving feedback on my social media content, and so much more. I feel so lucky to have people in my life who are excited to see me thrive, even during that “messy middle” phase of life!
