We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Hatch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liz, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have been in the fitness industry for over 10 years, and at the time of starting my own business, it was a natural shift to open my own studio. I wanted to still work with people in fitness and I wanted to create a community that everyone felt included in. The concept of Cyclebar aligned with my desire to create a community and help people. Cyclebar is a Franchise and I thought for my first business, having the support of an established franchisor behind me would lead me to a successful start as an entrepreneur!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own Cyclebar Southlands. I am one of the youngest woman to own a studio in the nation. The franchise itself has been so supportive of my growth and success and are always throwing me ways to become better and more successful. I have been open for 3 years and it has been a lot of challenges. I have always been in the fitness industry in one capacity or another, so when I decided I wanted to run my own space, I knew a franchise would be the best way for me to jump in. I have learned so much from the company but most of all I have learned so much about my riders. I love getting to know everyone on such a deeper level, about their lives, challenges and successes. My favorite thing about Cyclebar Southlands is our ability to create more than just a place to workout. We have create a safe space for others to create connections, extended families and a support chain. I love our CycleGives Rides, which are days dedicated to giving back to the community. This location have collectively raised over $10,000 towards local and national charities over the last 3 years. It is such a blessing to have a space that allows for community connections and personal growth simultaneously.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I of course would bring them to Cyclebar Southlands to show them my world. Next, The Rock off of Smoky Hill is one of my favorite local watering hole and I thoroughly enjoy the family vibe it takes you to, between their amazing brunch and welcoming happy hour. I also love Thai food, and there is not a better place to go besides Thai Flavor Restaurant in Aurora. Last, I love taking a drive to our beautiful mountain range to see all of the wonders that are the Rockies!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this to my daughter who is always keeping me curious, hopeful and marching forward in life!
