We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica McTaggart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from a small, farming community on the Eastern plains of Colorado. A true, born & raised native of this beautiful state! My family went to church most Sunday mornings and spent countless evenings around the dinner table chatting about all the life things. It was commonplace for everyone in town to attend our “Friday Night Lights” in support of the singular high school serving the immediate area. I don’t recall a time, to this day, that I went to the store and didn’t run into at least one person I knew. It was hard to get away with anything because my parents would most definitely find out, ha! I learned how to rise above the tide, work for what I want, to stand & speak up for what I believe in and those I love, to stand firm in my faith, and that my word is my bond. All of which I still carry with me today in both my personal & professional environments.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Honestly, I jumped into business ownership without really thinking about it! I mean, I thought about it, but didn’t REALLY think about all of it. The everyday ins and outs of running a business are monotonous and definitely not my favorite part of being a business owner, haha. I figured that one out pretty quickly! I also knew that I wanted to work for myself and had a knack for organizing things & people. I leaned on a somewhat small network (at the time) and what started out as a few corporate event bookings here & there quickly grew into full-service weddings & events. My background in corporate management, fine dining service, and hospitality blend perfectly to support the needs of my clients. Assisting them to host large functions that are easy to navigate while keeping their guests happy and comfortable.

Something I like all potential couples and vendors to know is that I treat my vendor partners as clients. The chances of a wedding couple coming to Pink Champagne Events, a second time, is almost unheard of! Vendors, however, I will always have an opportunity to work with again. It’s important to establish a firm working partnership while prioritizing their needs. That assists both of us in mitigating potential issues ahead of the event day. It also puts vendors at ease knowing they can come directly to me to help solve problems or provide general support and feedback. This industry can be a tough one and I don’t want to make it harder for any of us!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t think you can come to Denver, for an extended trip, without going to a show at Red Rocks! It’s the most amazing concert experience and gives rise to Colorado’s huge music scene! If there isn’t time for a Red Rocks visit, going for a stroll through the Dairy Block (LoDo) or RiNo neighborhoods and doing some shopping and enjoying outdoor dining & bevvies is a close second. I also enjoy catching a professional game of any kind at our numerous local venues. Denver always has something exciting going on, no matter the time of year!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, it’s hard to come up with one individual or group to shoutout for getting to me where I am today. I mean, there’s the obvious answer of my Creator and my family. Of course! But, thinking deeper, I’m blessed to have a massive amount of unending support & encouragement from all of my extended family & friends, former bosses & colleagues, current colleagues, former & current clients, and the local Colorado events industry. All of whom have been there, at one time or another, as mentors, sounding boards, and cheerleaders. I’m inspired by the consistent excitement over what I do and their efforts in my life, on a daily basis. I strive to be the best representation of their love & support that I can!
