We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessy Tierney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk…or should I say, taking a chance on risk – now that’s quite a concept!

The journey to Rollin In Daisies was certainly a path paved with risk. A few moths ago, nestled in the stability of my corporate job, the word ‘risk’ seemed like a scary concept. The comfort of regular income, the rhythm of an everyday routine – it was safe, but it lacked a certain spark that I had always craved and I knew my comfort zone was no longer serving me. Swapping the safety of my corporate job for the unknown was undoubtedly daunting, with a whirlwind of ‘what ifs’ swirling around in my mind. However, now having taken that risk, I view the concept quite differently.

Although I continue make mistakes and face new challenges each day, I see risk as the secret ingredient in the recipe for personal growth, fulfillment, and peace. Embracing uncertainty has pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined. Running a business, creating delicious product, building relationships with customers turned friends, and simply having fun, brings me daily fulfillment. Despite not knowing where this journey leads, living beyond my comfort zone without regrets brings me a profound sense of peace.

The transition was not without its challenges and I continue to face new hurdles each day that occasionally make me want to hide under the covers and read Chicken Noodle Soup For The Stressed/Confused/Scared Soul or Giving Up On Your Dreams For Dummies. However, faith has been my anchor, gratitude for this beautifully blessed life I have has been my north star, and daily support and kindness I receive from customers has been my fuel.

A quote I often lean on says “there is no such thing as failing, you either succeed or learn”. How cool is that?! Risk, therefore, I view as a very dear friend…one who encourages me to explore the uncharted territories of my potential. With each risk I take, I am reminded that life is not about playing it safe, but about embracing the unknown with a heart full of faith, a mind open to endless possibilities, and a belief in true magic.

When I look back at the moments where I hesitated, I realize those were the times I missed out on opportunities that could have added a new dimension to my life. Now, with every step forward, regardless of the outcome, I feel a deep sense of accomplishment knowing that I dared to take the leap.

In the process, I have discovered a community of like-minded folks who inspire and challenge me to push beyond my limits. Our shared stories of triumphs and tribulations create a tapestry of resilience and courage, reminding me that I’m not alone on this journey- what a blessing!

So, as I continue to navigate this adventure, I hold on to the belief that risk is not a foe to be feared, but a friend to be cherished. It is the spark that ignites our passions, the force that propels us forward, and the companion that walks with us on the path to self-discovery.

To anyone standing on the edge of their comfort zone, contemplating whether to take that leap, I say this: Trust in the process, embrace the uncertainty, and let the magic of risk guide you to a life full of learning, growth, and joy!!

What should our readers know about your business?
Rollin In Daisies is a boutique bakery that specializes in gluten-free cinnamon rolls, a niche that sets us apart in the world of baked goods. What makes Rollin In daisies truly unique is the unwavering commitment to simple, clean ingredients that are both indulgent and kind to your body.

I grew up on a rescue farm in Boulder Colorado, spent my childhood barefoot in the garden picking veggies for dinner, collecting eggs in the barnyard, harvesting grapes to can for grape juice, and eating spoonfuls of honey from our bee hives. Needless to say, the value of clean, real ingredients was a standard instilled in me at an early age. Therefore, at Rollin In Daisies, my recipes are crafted using only the best-in-class ingredients: no artificial additives, no seed oils, no natural flavorings, and organic, grass-fed dairy.

But don’t be mistaken, just because they are gluten free and made with real ingredients, doesn’t mean they are like many other gluten free baked goods: dry and dense. These cinnamon rolls are fluffy with the classic gooey center we all dream about. The seasonal flavors, like the upcoming Chai Latte, Pumpkin Spice and Apple Pie, reflect dedication to fresh, seasonal ingredients and continuous innovation- you’ll always find a variety of flavors!

The journey to where we ( I say “we” because it’s been a team effort, thanks to my family) are today has been anything but easy. Rollin In Daisies began in a humble kitchen, born out of a personal challenge. Prior to being diagnosed with celiac disease, cinnamon rolls were a weakness. The diagnosis was life-changing, but it also ignited a spark to recreate my favorite indulgence in a gluten-free form. The road was paved with trial and error, it took nearly nine months to perfect the recipe. Overcoming the challenges required a relentless pursuit of perfection, a commitment to quality, and an unwavering belief in our mission. The lessons learned along the way have been invaluable: the importance of authenticity, the power of perseverance, and the joy of bringing happiness to others through yummy cinnamon rolls of all flavors! It’s a simple mission, yet very impactful.

At Rollin In Daisies, there is no shortage of “good vibes”, characterized by buttery yellow hues, daisy flowers, endless smiles, and a perpetually cozy atmosphere. We believe that everyone deserves to indulge in life’s sweet moments, regardless of dietary restrictions. Our story is one of transformation—turning a personal challenge into a flourishing business that brings joy to others. I am so excited about the future, continually inspired by the smiles and satisfaction of my sweet customers!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Colorado has endless spots to visit! If my BFF was visiting, I’d take her to the mountains! I’d first stop with breakfast bagels at Moe’s Bagels in Boulder, yes they have gluten free!! We would then drive up the beautiful highway 285 through the Buena Vista Valley, making a stop in Salida, CO to watch the river surfers and get a snack. After enjoying the sunshine in Salida, we would would head up Cottonwood Pass, this is only open a few months out of the year and isn’t fully paved but man is it beautiful! We would stop on the top of the pass to take some pictures and watch the marmots run around before heading down to Jack’s Cabin Cut Off, a famous cabin that marks the entry into the Gunnison Valley. We would then drive into Crested Butte, the most magical mountain town, I am biased because I lived in CB every summer during my childhood. We would spend the week exploring the valleys, mountain biking the Lower Loop, an iconic trail that takes you along the Slate River, we would visit the town of Gothic and we would of course, eat pizza at The Stash, only the best gluten free pizza in Colorado! The exploring never ends!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow, it’s nearly impossible to acknowledge everyone who has supported me on this journey. I’ve been so fortunate to receive support from so many wonderful folks, all of whom I deeply appreciate.

However, I owe everything to my parents. My sweet momma has been my biggest fan and cheerleader since day one- I really do mean it when I say I don’t know what I would do without her. My dad has been a steady source of support with guidance I sometimes don’t want to hear but always end up thanking him for later.

I consider myself extremely blessed to have my parents’ unconditional support. They are not just my parents but also my closest companions, my pillars, my role models, and I dedicate all to them.
