We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhazzy Wolf and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jhazzy, why did you pursue a creative career?
Ever since i was little i knew I wanted to be a singer. I’ve worked many many jobs and none of them brought me happiness. Although i was getting paid, i just felt like a real piece of me was missing! As i got older, I realized i could actually make money off of doing what i loved! Thats when i started researching more on how to turn my music into a brand.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Hi my name is Jhazzy Wolf. I am an independent artist based out of California and Colorado. I have been creating music on a professional level for about six years now. It wasn’t easy to get where I am today, There were definitely a lot of times I didn’t think I would be able to be successful in making a career out of my talents. But I can say I am most proud of being consistent and never stopping my dreams.

The hardest part of being an independent artist in my opinion is finding the funding. It’s not like a 9-to-5 job that starts off with a base pay. You have to invest into yourself and literally create your own revenue. A few years ago when I discovered I can upload my music onto streaming platforms and make money off of them. My track “Golden” blew up. It reached almost half 1 million plays over the course of a few months from just Pandora alone. That translated a little over to $500 on distrokid. From that day forward I knew I could create something out of what I loved. Now even though at that point I knew I had probably spent a lot more than $500 to get there. It was only the beginning to figuring out how to turn this into a real career.

Flash forward to 2021 I started up a weekly open mic called Wolf Wednesdays. When I first started it a year ago, it was just a hobby. Now it has grown into a platform where not only artists can network and share their talents, but gain resources to further their careers! I am beyond proud of what it has become.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestie was in town one of the first places I would take them too would probably be the studio! I love creating music and sharing this experience with people close to me! After that I would take them to A trip down memory lane and show them all the places where Wolf Wednesdays first started.

Our first stop would be Monkey Barrel. This is an iconic place for me as it was the first bar to let me host my event!

From there we would go to Gin Mill, this was the 2nd location for Wolf Wednesdays, Gin Mill has been around for many years is located downtown on Larimer Street surrounding a lot of other dope bars. It’s the perfect place to bar hop and experience downtown Denver.

After Gin Mill we would head down to Broadway st where bar standard is. Bar standard is super dope night club and also the first location to host our wolf Wednesdays showcase. This showcase we offered a $500 cash prize and an EPK to the winning artist!

Lastly I would end the night at the 778 wolf Wednesdays is currently at. It doesn’t matter what night of the week there is always something going on!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Thank you Amy my manager. She has never stopped believing me and is always pushing me to be the greatest. @ab.outwest

I would like to shout out the Wolf Pack & anyone who has ever came to support Wolf Wednesdays Open Mic! Without you all we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Also big shout out to Steven Buggz & Bright Future Media.
