Meet Jina Cruz | Owner of JfamilyShoppe

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jina Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
The reason I pursued a creative career is because I’ve always felt a big need in my life to create for not only my happiness but to bring others happiness too. Whenever I create something that someone loves it brings me a great sense of fulfillment. There’s no better feeling then seeing a big smile on someone’s face from something I’ve created but and I knew I could never live a life without experiencing that feeling often. And being a mom i also want to show my children that you can be successful by doing what you love that you don’t have to live a life you don’t like just to make a living. So I started my small business doing just that. And every day I am so grateful to have a career doing something I love and that my children will have inspiration to do what they love as well.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is JfamilyShoppe and we create all kinds of custom items which can also be seen as art. What sets us apart from other businesses is that we really care about our customers vision of what they want. And if they aren’t sure what they want we do our best to create something that they will love regardless.

What I am most excited about is the day I see someone outside wearing or using something I’ve created. To see my work out in the world will be one of the best experiences I will ever have. And I can’t wait for that day! I’ll probably try and take a selfie with the person who has it! So be prepared.

The way I got to where I am business wise is mostly from watching how hard my husband works and that’s whats motivated me to start my own business and not give up even when things get hard. It hasn’t been easy I didn’t know where to start in the beginning and I had to learn alot of things on my own with no teacher or support. Sales have been hard especially with the virus and people not really going out and shopping mixed with difficulty to be recognized as a small business online because there is a big saturation of people also trying to sell things online. I’m still figuring out ways to overcome these difficulties. But I have never given up because I know there are people out there who will like what I have to offer. And they won’t find someone who cares about their customers satisfaction as much as we will. So I keep creating and I know things will keep improving with time.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is to never give up. Sure take a break if you need to Take that bubble bath, Watch that brain numbing tv show, cuddle your dog, Take a few days off and refocus. But never ever give up! You’ve come too far to give up.

I want the world to know that you can find happiness! It’s all about how you look at things. But it’s there and anyone can find it. You dont have to look to hard either. It can be in the little things like your favorite flavored gummy bear and it can also be in the big things and all the things in-between. Happiness is everywhere if you want to find it. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably take them to Casa Bonita because as a native you can’t say you’ve experienced Colorado without going to Casa Bonita atleast once. We would definitely be going on a few beautiful hikes through the Colorado mountains and I’d also take them to a few other beautiful spots to relax at too. I would taken them to our restaurant Garibaldi Mexican Bistro so they can try our authentic Mexico city style food served right here in Colorado. But I would also cook them food from my own kitchen and make them my special and addicting home made tamales. I would also love them to experience gambling in Blackhawk in the mountains because it is such a fun experience and then you go outside and the beautiful mountains are right there. And the fresh air is unbeatable.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes! I would like to shout out my husband Jesus. He is always pushing me to follow my dreams and complete my goals. He helps me feel confident when I’m not so sure about things. And he always has my back as my business partner. he always tells me he believes in me which helps me believe in me too.
