We had the good fortune of connecting with Timia York and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Timia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For me, the driving force behind my business and brand success has always been passion—specifically, a passion for doing good and spreading kindness. From the very beginning, I knew I didn’t want to just be another cleaning company in an already saturated market. At the core of who I am, I want to make an impact on those around me, and I truly believe that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and that the world needs more love. That vision has shaped everything about Maid to Bloom. I wanted my cleaners, my clients, and my community to feel that in every interaction. That focus on creating a brand rooted in care and compassion has been what sets us apart and continues to fuel our success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I got into the house cleaning industry because of my Mom. She owned her own business, and from a young age I would help out. I loved seeing the difference it made in people’s lives, and I learned a lot about building relationships with clients just by watching her.

After high school, I spent several years doing missions work abroad, but once I met my husband and got married, I knew I wanted to settle down and establish roots. I managed a cleaning company for several years, which reignited my love for the industry and my passion for helping people through house cleaning. But I also knew I wanted more—I wanted to be my own boss, to have creative freedom, and to use my platform to do good in the community.

Maid to Bloom was actually born out of one of the hardest seasons of my life. After my previous employer laid me off while I was on maternity leave, I had to make a choice: either find another job and navigate childcare, or take the risk of starting something of my own. With two little boys under two at the time, it was terrifying, but I felt like the opportunity was in front of me for a reason. Within a few months, I put together a plan and jumped in headfirst.

It hasn’t been easy—starting from scratch never is—but it’s been incredibly rewarding. Overcoming the challenges came down to being clear about what I want in life and what matters most. I knew I would always regret it if I didn’t try. And along the way, I’ve been so blessed to see my vision come to life: creating a business that I’m passionate about, one that not only helps people by providing cleaning but spreads kindness and makes people feel cared for.

What I want people to know about my brand is that it’s about more than cleaning. It’s about doing good, showing love, and reminding people that they are worthy of investing in themselves and their homes. That’s what sets Maid to Bloom apart, and that’s what excites me every single day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Even though I’m not technically a Colorado native, I’ve lived here most of my life and truly consider it home. If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d definitely want to give them a taste of both the mountains and the local Fort Collins charm.

We’d spend a day in the mountains—probably Estes Park for its cozy, small-town feel and stunning views, or Breckenridge for a fun mountain-town vibe. Closer to home, I’d start mornings with coffee at Little Bird Coffee downtown or Bindle . A hike at Horsetooth Reservoir is a must—the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and such a classic Fort Collins experience.

I’d also make sure we had a night out in Old Town. We’d have dinner at The Emporium in The Elizabeth Hotel and then head upstairs to the Sunset Lounge for cocktails and the most beautiful views. That spot is especially meaningful to me since my husband and I got married at The Elizabeth—it’s one of my favorite places in town.

The week would definitely include bike rides on the gorgeous trails around Fort Collins, afternoons in Old Town exploring shops and live music, and in the summer, paddle boarding. And if we wanted something truly unforgettable, we’d go to a concert at Red Rocks. Between the trails, the food, the music, and the mountain views, there’s truly something special here that makes Colorado such an amazing place to share with the people I love

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“First and foremost, I have to give credit to my husband, Ricky. He’s not only my biggest fan, but also the one who sees my potential and pushes me to reach it. He has always believed in me and in my success—even in the seasons when I didn’t fully believe in myself. Alongside him, everything I do is for my two little boys, Maddix and Jack. I want them to grow up seeing that their mom isn’t afraid to chase her dreams, but more importantly, that I am someone who adds kindness and love to the world. I’m also incredibly grateful for my hardworking and dedicated Admins, Allie and Jillian, my amazing cleaning staff that works so hard day in and day out and of course our amazing clients—their trust and support are what allow me to keep living out this vision every day.
