We had the good fortune of connecting with Jocelyn Rico and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jocelyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My Thought Process during this Journey so far has been to Convince all Audiences that Crochet can be considered High Fashion. Crochet is often looked at as the “granny” fashion, and I have had to expand my creativity to keep my looks modern and to meet the fashion for today’s society. Successfully this has helped grow my clientele base in all cultures, sizes, shapes & styles.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Backstory of Business
My name is Jocelyn Rico. I am the CEO/Designer of LavishQueen Fabrics LLC. My Business is a Custom Crochet Clothing Line, Founded in 2020 & Established June 2021 in Colorado. I started my business to inspire other women to not be afraid to chase your craft.
As I Approach being a part of my 2nd Big Fashion Show in 2022, my biggest inspiration to keep striving for success is being able to showcase my talent in my hometown. I faced many obstacles through my 1st of Designing but I continued to stand out with my eccentric style. Being a mother of 3 while chasing your dreams full time is definitely my biggest challenge but my kids are so motivating and always encourage me to work as hard as I can.
Our Lavish designs bring out the fun and flirty side to every shopper. We are striving to continue to grow our clientele and eventually have a storefront for our customers to get the full “Lavish’ experience. This is Just the Beginning of our Journey!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a Shout to My Sister Breonna Scott & My brother Ryan Rico. The continuous amount of support & encouragement from the beginning of my Journey up until now is what inspires me to be the Best I can be at Crochet Design.
