We had the good fortune of connecting with Johanna & Jean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johanna & Jean, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When we were kids we always were together and always dreamt about the possibility of working together. Then we grew up and for some reason destiny pulled us apart for almost 10 years. I moved to Florida in the USA and stayed at home to take care of my kids, then when they started elementary school I did have some free time and got my Real Estate license. My brother on the other side went to Argentina to study in the University of La Plata and graduated as a photography director. When we finally got back together we kept talking about starting a business, and as siblings who shared a passion for the arts and specially photography, we saw in this idea the perfect opportunity to merge our interests and create something truly meaningful. Cunaguaro Studios is not just a business for us, it’s a place we inherently belong to, where we can channel our deepest perspectives and aspirations to offer a unique experience to our community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are Johanna Paris and Jean Castro, two siblings from Caracas, Venezuela. Our journey through life sparked a deep love for art and the world of visuals, leading us to dive into fields like Systems Analysis, Graphic Design, Audiovisual Journalism, and Cinematography.
After some time apart, we found ourselves reunited in the United States, ready for a fresh start. That’s when the idea of “Cunaguaro Studios” was born. A local business for all things Photography and Videography. Our mission? To be the artistic pals everybody can count on for stunning pictures and videos that truly capture the essence of any moment. We always knew we wanted to show our roots in some way in our business and that’s how we chose our name “Cunaguaro” that comes from a Venezuelan ocelot (wild cat).
At “Cunaguaro Studios,” we are all about bringing out the best in your business. Whether it’s snapping authentic team portraits or showcasing your products in the best light, we know just how to make your brand shine.
But what really make us stand out is our passion for genuine moments. We believe that the magic happens when people let their true selves shine through. So, whether you’re flashing your brightest smile or showing off the little details that make your products special, we will create a space where you can be yourself and tell your story in the most vibrant way possible. We will turn your moments into memories and your stories into captivating tales that’ll leave a lasting impression on everyone who sees them!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would take our friend to the Red Rocks Amphitheater, absolutely a must! And definitely will take them for some drinks at RiNo in Denver. We would take them on a drive to Estes Park and eat lunch somewhere along the river. We’d go hiking at Bear Lake as well. We would take them for dinner at Pearl Street in Boulder too!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our family! They are the best part of our photography business! Especially our kids who are our biggest motivation to get better and keep at it every day. We owe our success to the incredible love and support of our family who are the greatest treasure in this journey of entrepreneurship.
