Meet Johnna Bronson | Boutique Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnna Bronson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johnna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind lively’s success is our commitment to our mission statement: To give the friendliest service for each guest to have a personalized experience. We try our best to make every customer feel welcomed and important from the moment they walk in by our stylists whether they are looking for a special occasion dress or that perfect pair of jeans.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lively represents the active everyday woman, whether meeting your friend for yoga and coffee or attending that work cocktail party in style. We carry lines by local artists that hand-make jewelry to lines that represent fair trade globally. I have worked in the fashion industry all my life starting as a sales associate at Guess Jeans. I worked my way up in retail management, worked as a fashion representative in Chicago and buyer in Las Vegas for Caesars Entertainment. Fashion has always been a passion of mine and always dreamt of owning my own boutique. It was important for me to learn all aspects of the industry from sales, management, and wholesale purchasing to customer experience and fashion trends. Having passion and a dream has guided me through many different challenges throughout my career, but knowing where i was ultimately going has kept me focused and driven to this day. Hard work, faith, and determination has enabled me to have a boutique that not only provides fashion for our customers, but has created a community gathering place.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love my town, Durango! We would go for a hike at Horse Gulch or climb the Sky Steps by Fort Lewis College. Afterwards, we would visit a favorite coffee shop, Bread, on 8th and Main Street, around the corner from lively. Downtown shopping is a favorite when my bestie comes in town. Besides lively, we would hit Urban Market and Tippy Canoe for some great finds for our home. El Moro for happy hour drinks and sushi at East by Southwest is always a favorite! For a local hangout place and away from downtown, the Union Social House has great vibes, drinks and food carts !

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Lively gives a shoutout to our local community! Over the past 6 years, we have built a loyal local customer base in Durango. Lively is more than a boutique — it is a place where people come to connect with one another, and our store provides a fun and supportive environment to unwind.

With events such as Free Yoga Fridays at the store, live music, Sip & Shops, and the yearly fashion show, Lively strives to foster a connection both within and outside the community.

Lively partners with a local non profit organization called iAm Music based in Durango.  They partner with lively for yearly fashion shows and supports musicians of all ages of all backgrounds to pursue their music  aspirations.
