We had the good fortune of connecting with Jorge and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jorge, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Every business I start is driven by the desire to leave a positive mark on the community—whether that’s through the people I work with, the customers we serve, or the long-term impact of what we build. I believe even small businesses can create meaningful change when they’re rooted in purpose.

With my latest venture, Neovita Colorado, the goal was twofold: address the growing need for affordable housing and do it in a way that’s actually sustainable. We’ve developed a product that reduces material waste and brings down long-term energy costs for homeowners. To me, that’s the sweet spot—building something that solves real problems while being good for people and the planet.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a group of companies, we focus on three core paths: construction, housing, and finance. Each business I’ve built plays a role in that ecosystem—from BC Home Services, which specializes in renovations and landscapes, to Paisa Loans, which provides short-term financing options to underserved communities. But the most exciting and impactful venture right now is Neovita Colorado.

Neovita is our answer to the affordable housing crisis—designed with sustainability at its core. We build homes using a proprietary material made from recycled coffee husks, creating structures that are wood-free, energy-efficient, and engineered for long-term durability. It’s a way to address two big challenges—housing access and environmental impact—through innovation.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I’ve had to learn new industries, take risks, and push through moments of doubt. But every challenge has made me sharper and more committed. The lesson I’ve learned is that purpose-driven business not only matters—it’s what makes all the late nights and long days worth it.

What I want people to know about my story and my companies is that we’re here to do more than make a profit. We’re here to leave a mark. Whether it’s giving someone their first home, transforming a living space, or helping a family get through a tough financial patch, the goal is always the same—create value that lasts.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When friends come to visit, it’s almost always for the mountains—and I make sure they get the full Colorado experience. A typical week starts in Breckenridge, one of my favorite ski towns. It’s got that authentic mountain-town feel, and the skiing is unbeatable. After a day on the slopes, we’ll grab some bison burgers and local brews—can’t beat that combo with the views.

We’ll mix in a day or two of exploring Denver—maybe catch a Nuggets game if they’re in town, try some of the diverse food scenes (tacos one night, sushi the next), and check out a few galleries or music spots.

Toward the end of the trip, I always take them to Boulder for a slower-paced, local vibe. A walk down Pearl Street, a drink at a laid-back pub, and just soaking up the character of the place—especially at night—feels like the perfect way to close out the trip.

Skiing, good food, sports, local beer, and mountain views—that’s the Colorado experience I love to share.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without a doubt, my dad. He’s been the most consistent source of support and belief in me from the very beginning. He didn’t just encourage me to take risks and start my own companies—he showed me what hard work looks like day in and day out. His example taught me that success comes from persistence, patience, and doing things with integrity. He’s been both a mentor and a motivator, and a lot of what I’ve built wouldn’t exist without the foundation he gave me.
