We had the good fortune of connecting with Kadi Bain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kadi, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
Years ago I had a trampoline accident which left my neck and back in pain. I had suffered with chronic pain since the accident. After I had my first daughter in Los Angeles and gave up my pharmaceutical job I read the book called The Pilates Bible by Jo Ferris. After reading it I started taking Pilates regularly and it helped me so much with my back pain I decided my passion would to get trained in it and help others.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
FAB differs from our competitors as we have a unique machine called the FABFormer. You cannot find this machine anywhere else in Colorado. The custom made, maple reformer is twice the size of other reformers with additional foot bars, pulleys, straps, resistance springs, and giant jump boards. This has created a unique, fast-paced fitness program that is low impact, but high intensity. One of the biggest challenges we face is to not make the workout too intimating or too hard for new clients while continuing to keep it challenging for our long term clients. What we try do is read the room and create routines that aren’t too confusing as well as can be easily modified for all levels.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Prior to COVID I’ve always enjoyed exploring the different neighborhoods within Denver, whether it’s Cherry Creek North, Highlands, RiNo, Suburbs or Downtown. They all have their unique shops, restaurants, and vibe. I also loved attending sporting events based on the time of year (Broncos, Rockies, Aves, & Nuggets). Finally there is nothing more beautiful than the mountains regardless of the time of year.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to all our AMAZING clients and instructors who teach at FAB. FAB has grown to be a community where clients want to see FAB succeed. Through word of mouth they have helped grow our community. Without them or our instructors FAB would not be successful.
