We had the good fortune of connecting with Kait Kozak and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kait, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity, which I view as staying true to who I am and creating from that place. It is quite easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing. While there are best business practices to be mindful of and brilliant role models to follow, I have discovered that people are magnetized by realness, and realness drives success. It’s a root value of integrity. When I try to morph into someone who I am not, or do something that is outside the scope of my heart, soul, or skill set, then it just doesn’t stick, nor is it enjoyable.
I have a tenacious spirit from my upbringing as an athlete and early career as a collegiate volleyball coach. I view challenges and setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow. I feel incredibly grateful for each and every moment, including the hard ones. Becoming an independent business owner is hard work, and sometimes feels like a huge uphill trek. Every step is 100% meaningful, yet not always easy. An enormous level of courage, perseverance, and patience has been required of me as well as humility to change direction entirely when something isn’t working. I remind myself daily that building a high value service takes time and effort, and that nothing happens overnight.
Finally, I enjoy a good laugh! Wit and playfulness are definitely tools I bring forth to support myself and the people with whom I work. As a society we are so often confronted with an overwhelming amount of stress and pressure to achieve and succeed, to be a certain someone and, to live a certain way. I bring a healthy perspective, relatability, and a light-hearted approach when life leans a bit too heavily toward darkness.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The short answer is that I am an Empowerment Coach and Facilitator. I guide people through transformational processes of body-mind-soul using many different modalities and philosophies such as: psychology, yoga, meditation, energy, sacred sexuality, tantra, and shamanism. What I love most about my work is that it is incredibly difficult to define, and that it’s holistic in nature. It is not one thing, nor for one kind of person with a certain set of needs. There are branding challenges from this perspective yet the gift is in its indefinable quality.
My current area of focus is in sacred sexuality, which can mean a lot of different things, but at this moment I am referring to the intersection of intimacy and spirituality. It is the unfoldment of self-worth, pleasure and meaning through a shared experience. I want to change the limiting and/or shameful narratives around sexuality, deepen our capacity to feel and connect with one another, increase overall life satisfaction, uplevel our consciousness and care as a society, and overall bring more awareness and resources to people that desire positive change in their lives. I joyfully work with individuals and couples.
In addition, I am curiously exploring creative writing, painting, product design, business partnerships, and nature-based immersions for both personal enjoyment and greater client care.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ahhhhhhh. My time exploring Denver has been limited due to the pandemic and my recent relocation from the east coast. I landed here in Denver with gratitude and joyful anticipation to explore it more. I need that local friend to show me the best spots. Any takers?
Here are a few of my recent favorites:
The Corner Beet
City o City
Hudson Hill
Honey Elixir Bar
Run for the Roses.
Sassafras
Root Down
Agave Taco Bar
Farmers Markets @ South Pearl Street and West Highlands
Upnext: Museums, sporting events and concert venues!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Mmmmmmm. There have been so many incredible people and resources that have contributed to my success- I can’t possibly name them all here! I’d like to return to my roots and recognize those people who have played an early and influential role in my development, particularly my parents, siblings, and high school volleyball coach who inspired me, guided me, and challenged me to be my best, while allowing me to be a “mess!”
