We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalysa Leuck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kalysa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I love to take risks. I think they are the only reason I live my dream life everyday. People perceive risks as too scary and see failure as an end. I see risks as the potential to trust the universe for your most optimum life experience. I started my first business on $400. I started my second business while I was pregnant and my husband was experiencing turbulence in his career. I moved my family 18 hours away on a leap of faith that it was in true alignment for us. These are just three examples from my life. I usually take at least one risk on a year, if not more. Risk is so important to move you from where you are to where you want to go.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I describe myself as Kayos (CHAOS- a play on my name Kalysa with the fact that I truly don’t have one thing I focus on). I am a licensed cosmetologist, I do bookkeeping and taxes, I am a licensed cosmetology instructor, I am a yoga instructor, I’m a product sales woman and I am a creative designer. I try and use all of these skills to have a well rounded business. I was able to get where I am today with the encouragement from both my parents. My mom, an entrepreneur herself, and my dad, a financial wiz. When I first started my hair salon in Indiana, it was easier to build because I knew so many people thru growing up in that area and knowing a lot of people because of my mom’s business. Maintaining the focus to keep the shop running was the hardest part for me. When I have people In my chair, I’m busy, but keeping myself busy when I don’t have someone in my chair is hard. That’s why I do taxes and bookkeeping for my mom’s business, that’s how I am able to create decor, shirts, crystal boxes, and that’s how I was able to get licensed in Cos instructing and certified as a yoga teacher. I kept wanting more for my business so I kept signing up for more things to make it better. My biggest lesson I’ve learned from this experience is GO FOR IT! Believe in yourself and your potential and RUN with it. Recently I am most excited about creating these amazing and powerful crystal boxes. They have brought such a neat side to my yoga journey. I want others to know we are in control of our reality and I believe these boxes are a healing reminder of that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well luckily one of my best friends did visit for a week! We took her all over. I am so excited to be back in Colorado after being away for ten years. We live in Green Mountain. We live right by The Green Mountain trail, that’s a must. Such beautiful view right there off the busy road. We checked out Littleton and went to the Jackass Hill Brewery. We saw a free concert at Levitt Pavilion, and we spent most of the summer weekends there. We went to Evergreen to hike and we ate at Cactus Jacks after exploring Evergreen Dam. We went to Garden of the Gods (Colorado Springs) and hiked, so beautiful there! Idaho Springs for brunch and shopping. Georgetown for a beautiful water walk and view of the mountains. Shopping and food in Golden was a must, it’s one of my most favorite spots! The crystal shop there is epic! There is so much to do in Colorado! I love it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people I have to thank for achieving my goals. From my family, my friends, my loyal guests, my mentors, and the teams I’ve been apart of. I would love to focus on two women specifically. My yoga teacher trainers, Jacqueline and Betsy. They have helped me uncover my shadow self, do light work, and accept my spiritual gifts. They have encouraged me to use a positive narrative to create my dream reality. They truly helped set me free from a lot of thoughts I was using to hold myself back.
