Meet Kara Guezze | Photographer, Videographer, Editor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kara Guezze and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kara, what is the most important factor behind your success?
That’s easy, passion. Passion is what has driven me to follow my dreams, and passion is what still drives me today as I’m on that path to fulfillment. I absolutely love what I do for a living, I’ve known at least what direction I wanted to go in since I was in grade school. Today looking back, the passion I had only increased with age. It encourages me to do the best that I can and to do better every time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I currently work for Verizon as an Assistant Video Editor by day, and try to fit in all my other freelance jobs on the side or by night. I am most interested in photography, videography, and video editing, but my art is not limited to these. I have many other technological skills that are in high demand and I often create other kinds of art, like graphic design, music/sound, building websites for organizations and whatever else seems to find me. It was not easy to get to where I am today and still have ways to go, but I am in fact so proud of where I am today. It took a lot of hard work, long days, and my blood, sweat and tears along with it! It is not easy to stand out from the rest, especially in this field. It took a lot of time, dedication, and no’s, to get the right yes’. Looking back I wouldn’t change a thing because my challenges also helped mold me into the woman and hard worker that I am today. Those who know me and have gotten the chance to work with me know this, but I want the world to know that I am a force to be reckoned with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am an avid traveler. In fact, Colorado is probably one of my most favorite places in the world. The state puts me in awe every time I step foot in that mile high place. I push myself to finish the long but rewarding hikes that hold such hidden treasures. This in turn also mirrors my way of life – working hard to eventually get to those beautiful views. If my best friend was to visit Colorado with me, I would take her to one of my favorite places, Mesa Verde National Park. I’ve been to all the others in Colorado and although the mountains are just breathtaking, Mesa Verde is just so rich in history and structure. It is amazing what people do in order to survive and live a fulfilling life. I am the friend that strongly encourages adventure and travel because it opens up the mind to what else is out there with floods of possibility. Afterward, a nice brewery to reward our hard work

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to make 2 shoutouts for this one. Of course the first to my family and friends for their amazing support and networking skills on my behalf. A lot of my work has come from their word of mouth and I am always so gracious for the people and work they find me. And secondly, I would like to give that other shoutout to my workplace, Verizon. Verizon has pushed me beyond my boundaries and has made me better. I dedicate some of my successes to this organization because working for them has complemented and pushed my passion and hard work to great thresholds, and has continued to mold me for my future successes.
