We had the good fortune of connecting with Karen Larrea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karen, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe that the most important factor in the success of my brand is being tenacious. You have to keep your goal insight and not allow the negativity or opinions of others to determine your goal.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel like I’ve had 12 different “professional” lives already from teenage pop star, mom, entrepreneur, reality star, microinfluencer for major companies, dating coach to just being me. I think the key is to be focused and consistent with your vision. It definitely has not been easy in any of the paths I have taken but I always continue to push forward. Learn, listen, make genuine connections and always treat others how you would like to be treated. Remember those who are up in business where you want to be eventually come down and you definitely don’t want to be the person who is up high, coming down with bridges burned, always remember that.

I am so excited to dedicate myself inspiring women over 40 to become the best version of themselves, I am very excited in help navigate both men and women that are re-entering the dating world after divorce find their new love. I also love the fact that after 40 I am representing and have been asked by major brands to be an influencer on AD campaigns. My brand will continue growing with different avenues and you will have to stay tuned to see what is to come next.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are definitely amazing things to do but let’s start with breakfast at Snooze, an A.M. eatery for their pineapple upside down pancakes which are to die for, then head to the 16th street mall for shopping cause a girl always can use a new outfit and shoes. After I would go to the Denver Art Museum for a little culture and then hopefully there would be a concert playing at Red Rocks Amphitheater which is breathtaking and an experience not to be missed. After the concert hit up Finn’s Manor for a cool cocktail or craft beer along with dinner from one of the food trucks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a villiage of shoutouts I owe a world of gratitude to but the two most important people in my circle would be my children. They are the reason I do EVERYTHING for. They also are the two people who encourage me to fly and go after my crazy dreams or they just as easily keep me grounded by telling me the truth when things don’t seem right.
