We had the good fortune of connecting with Kate Crump and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kate, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Weighted Angels is made up of six women who all work full time jobs and donate their time to run the board for Weighted Angels. We are all passionate about helping other families through this difficult time in their life. I think as life changes, so does having to balance work, home life, and running a successful non profit. Personally, since we started Weighted Angels five years ago, life has dramatically changed for me. It has taken a lot of balance to continue to juggle all aspects of life. Our mission at Weighted Angels continues to drive me to work harder and impact as many families as we can.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Weighted Angels was created back in 2019 with an idea to try to make weighted animals with the hopes of stocking one hospital and helping families. We never imagined we would be where we are today. Weighted Angels currently supplies twelve hospitals and we are growing. Our goal for 2024 is to add more hospitals with the hopes of expanding to chapters. Developing a business through covid was our biggest challenge. We weren’t sure if we would make it through, but we did. Our love for our mission helped drive us to keep going.
Weighted Angels is a group of women who have all lost a baby through stillbirth or neonatal loss. We all personally know the heartache that a family goes through. We create our animals to try to give some comfort in a really hard time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shoutout to my family, friends, co workers, and our community who have help make Weighted Angels a success. When we first started this organization five years ago, we had no idea the impact it would have on the community.
