Meet Kate Hall | Board Certified Haircolorist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kate Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kate, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe as hair color artists, we have the power to make or break a persons self esteem, simply by how we make them look and more importantly about how we make them feel about themselves. Making a person feel like the very best version of themselves is my secret weapon. I cherish the relationships I have nurtured in my last 17 years of business here in Littleton.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been a hair stylist for 30+ years now and have never been more in love with my clients or my craft. I specialize in traditional blonde highlighting, low maintenance Signature Grey Blending & root touch ups with Micro Steam Processing.

I take great pride in the fact that in 2011 I became a Board Certified Hair Colorist. Essentially, I earned my Masters Degree in the science, physiology and chemistry of hair color. One of the most rigorous, processes I have endured in my career. Less than 40% passing ratio and I passed on the first round. Since then I became an educator at the American Board of Certified Hair Colorist Energizing Summit in Los Angeles and in 2016 I was on the closing day expert panel along side world renowned educators including International Color Specialist, Roy Peters, ex-VP of marketing for Paul Mitchell, Nina Kovner and color visionary Misael Aponte to name just a few.

I’ve made many connections as an educator in the beauty industry through the years and one I am most proud of is meeting a cosmetic chemist and starting my own exclusive line of hair products, HK Hair by Kate only sold in my salon suite. These products are not only clean, petrochemical, fomaldehyde, sulfate, gluten and salt free, but they perform beautifully and are exquisitely bottled and packaged.

While most stylists offer a great first visit and solid maintenance thereafter, I see my role differently. I will work together with my guests to create a long term hair care plan to ensure their look is always fresh and they will never feel bored or stuck in a routine. I check in through out the year to see if their lifestyle and/or hair style needs have changed, then we will navigate them together.

As a business owner, I know exactly how important it is to feel special, pampered and beautiful in a relaxing environment. I have designed my studio suite experience in a way that will leave my guests feeling uplifted, relaxed and more confident than ever felt before.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our favorite spots in Colorado…..We love Red Rocks! One of the venues we often show off about our great state. Did I mention we are a very music oriented family? We would take guests to Morrison for dinner, do a little shopping, then off to Red Rocks for a show. The next day we would take a beautiful drive to Glenwood Springs and enjoy not only the stunning drive, but a hike to Hanging Lake then a soak at Iron Mountain Hot Springs and a walk to dinner at Juicy Lucy’s or the Underground for Italian an overnight or two at the historic Hotel Colorado, they have an awesome patio for happy hour.
On the way back from Glenwood, a stop in Vail for the day. We would go to Piney Ranch for a horseback ride and lunch, Piney Ranch has one of the most beautiful views of the Gore Range and to see the beauty on horseback is an adventure, no one ever forgets!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to personally dedicate my shoutout to my husband, my family and professionally the Board of Certified Haircolorists. My husband and my family have always been supportive and encouraging in my efforts throughout my entire career. Without their support, there is no way any of this would have been possible. The Board of Certified Haircolorists gave me the confidence, knowledge and elevated my very own standards of excellence, thus creating credibility in the eyes of the consumer.
