We had the good fortune of connecting with Katherine Stribakos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katherine, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is the authentic commitment to natural, results‑driven skincare and commitment to great service. Which I believe reflects the values of our Boulder and Front Range Colorado community. We blend high‑quality, plant‑powered ingredients with personalized care to create transformative and deeply relaxing experiences, both in my Boulder skincare studio and through educational content. By genuinely listening to clients’ needs and tailoring every treatment and product recommendation, I’ve built trust and loyalty with clients who value whole‑body health and sustainable beauty.

scrub me’s success also comes from consistently sharing skincare education, seasonal tips, and self‑care inspiration that resonates with people across Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, and the Front Range. Whether someone finds me through a Google search for natural skincare near Boulder, reads a blog post about sensitive skin solutions, finds my booth at a pop-up market, or books a facial at my studio, we focus on making every interaction helpful, uplifting, and rooted in real results. It’s this authentic connection with our Colorado community that drives our continued growth and success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My skincare business, Scrub Me Skin Care, is the heart‑and‑soul combination of my lifelong passion for natural, plant‑based skincare and over a decade of esthetician experience. I started making my own body scrubs and soaps back in 2010 using ingredient knowledge from esthetics school, and what began as a passion project eventually blossomed into a full‑fledged brand focused on purposeful, earth‑derived ingredients and sensitive‑skin‑friendly formulas.

Today, what sets my brand apart, both online at Scrub‑Me.com and in my Boulder skincare studio, is a truly personalized approach. Every product I create, and every facial service I offer, is rooted in thoughtful ingredient selection, tailored treatments, and education for my clients so they leave feeling confident and radiant in their own skin. My motto, “everything you need and nothing you don’t,” reflects that philosophy and draws in people who are tired of fragrance‑heavy, overly complicated skincare.

The journey hasn’t always been easy! Growing a small business, learning product formulation, and building a loyal community takes grit, experimentation, and a lot of curiosity. But I’ve learned that authenticity and consistency are powerful teachers. Sharing knowledge through my blog, social content, and in‑studio consultations has helped me connect with people across Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, and the Front Range who are searching for real, natural skincare solutions.

What I’m most proud of is the community that’s grown around Scrub Me. From repeat clients who trust my facials and products to online customers who say they finally found calming, effective skincare. I want the world to know that my brand is about more than products: it’s about education, empowerment, and skin confidence through nature‑powered care, right here in Boulder and beyond.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This question is so fun! I would wake up early and if it’s nice we can go for a walk or a run on the Boulder Creek path or at Tom Watson park. Then, I would go to Boxcar Coffee and get a special seasonal latte. After that, we would walk up and down Pearl Street and pop in a bookstore or 2. Then, we could go over to Spruce Street, where Rebecca’s Apothecary is, and go look at all things herbs and skincare. Loliats is a cute little grocery store and sandwich place that’s so good!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shoutout to the incredible women’s networking communities in Boulder. I’ve been so wowed by their warmth, support, and genuine spirit. It has been a game-changer in both my business and personal life. From collaborative event meetups to casual smoothie chats, these spaces have made it easy to connect with like-minded, heart-centered women who want to see each other thrive. It’s a beautiful thing to be part of a community where people truly show up for one another.

I also have to recognize the amazing local run clubs that bring together good vibes, movement, and real connections. Whether it’s chatting about skin care during a run, swapping business tips, or just getting to know one another, these gatherings have been an unexpected but powerful way to build friendships and grow organically through word of mouth. Boulder and the Front Range have such a unique culture of connection, and I’m so grateful to be part of it.
