We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Reed-Baum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After completing grad school, I couldn’t shake this overwhelming need for more. I’ve always needed a creative outlet and it’s easy to let routine and comfort stop you from dreaming and thinking of more. I was inspired to start this boutique after watching my husband continue to grow his own business. I wanted flexibility. I wanted freedom. I wanted something to grow from nothing into something. Charming Threads Boutique has provided me with a community of women who support the brand and also one another! I love being able to provide clothing, jewelry, gifts and more that make others feel and look their best. There’s nothing more important that giving to others and self care. We provide both!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Charming Threads Boutique was created in January of 2020. My intentions at first were to provide my customers with inspirational, feel good graphic tees. Ya know, the ones that make you laugh or give you a little confidence boost when you put it on. I also was a huge fan of comfy denim brands and turquoise jewelry. I started pretty slow and would post my new items in my VIP group on Facebook. Fast forward to now, we sell all over the U.S. through our website as well as our New Free App which is available to download in the Apple store and google play! They way our customers shop just got easier and I couldn’t be more excited! We have a large VIP group on Facebook which continues to grow everyday as well as our following on our business page, Instagram, Tik tok, and New App! We do shoppable live sales as well as in person markets with our cute renovated travel trailer!

We provide a wide variety of styles including tops, tanks, graphic tees, comfy denim, leggings, dresses, skirts, jackets, home goods, candles, gift ideas, jewelry, and more! My goal is to make every women feel GOOD and comfortable in what they wear! Life is too short not to love yourself and feel good in what you wear!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite places to take family when they visit us here in Northern Colorado is downtown Fort Collins, Downtown Denver and to my favorite coffeehouse in my small town of Eaton Called Coffeehouse Ten24. I love to got out to brunch at the Urban Egg. Take them for a yummy meal at Longhorn Steakhouse. And of course, a stop by Kilwins for the best ice cream ever!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I truthfully would not have had the guts to start my own business without the encouragement and support of my husband, Ryan. I have this other mentor who always talks about being “A Rising Tide.” When others pave a path and show you that opportunity is limitless, it makes it that much easier to take a leap of faith. I’ve watched him grow TruLog from an innovative invention and idea from his dad and exponentially market, expand and flourish the business into something huge. I wanted that for myself. I wanted to feel like I was the driver in my own life and I no longer wanted to be on someone else’s timeline. He’s been my copilot through the growing pains, the highs and the lows of business ownership. He definitely deserves major props!
