We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaytee Scull and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaytee, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The habits that helped us succeed were; getting rid of temptations, finding support in each other and finding support from a community of like-minded people.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been morbidly obese my entire life. I have always had a relationship with food. It made sense for me to go to college to become a chef. I love the art of food, the culture of food, and the commonality that we all need to eat to survive. Somewhere along the way my relationship with food turned into an unhealthy one. Three years ago my husband and I decided to take our health and diet into our own hands. We started the keto diet. We each lost a little more than half our weight and are living keto strong now. I found a wonderful way to turn my art of food into a life changing, life saving art!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We live in a beautiful state! There are so many things to do out doors. Hiking up one of the 14ers, white water rafting down Clear Creek, shopping in Estes Park, and camping at Red Feather Lakes. One of our favorite low carb friendly places to eat is Colorado’s very own Beau Jo’s in Idaho Springs. The mountain high pizza pie with honey is something everyone visiting colorado needs to try! Also the Cauliflower Pizza is always pleasing.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Two things keep us going! The first thing is the beautiful state that we live in. The second is our wonderful keto community who really keep us inspired daily!
