Meet Kaytlyn Perez | Inclusive Wedding & Family Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaytlyn Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaytlyn, what do you attribute your success to?
At the core of my work is a passion for telling real, emotional stories through intentional imagery — and that begins long before I pick up the camera. For me, the client’s experience is just as important as the final gallery. It’s about creating a welcoming, supportive space where people feel comfortable enough to be fully themselves, so their photos truly reflect who they are.
Connection is at the heart of everything I do. I take time to understand what makes each client unique and translate that into images that feel genuine and lasting. Photography, to me, is about so much more than making something look beautiful — it’s about trust, care, and preserving memories people can revisit for years to come.
My clients can feel that dedication. They trust me because I’m there to gently guide them, support them, and create a fun, relaxing environment. I believe that mix of authenticity, empathy, dedication, investment, and intentional storytelling is what has shaped my brand and, ultimately, my success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe what truly sets me apart is my dedication to seeing the light in others and reflecting it back to them. For many people, stepping in front of a camera is an incredibly vulnerable experience — it’s an act of trust that I deeply honor and protect. My goal is always to capture the connection people share with their loved ones in a way that feels authentic, soulful, and timeless.
The energy I bring into a photo session or wedding day is just as important as the technical side of photography. Whether I’m working with a shy client or an outgoing bride, I intentionally meet them where they are. Sometimes that means bringing the hype and excitement; other times it means offering a calm, grounding presence. When you truly meet people where they’re at, they open up, trust you, and the most genuine moments unfold.
Getting to where I am today was certainly far from easy — and truthfully, it’s still very much a work in progress. As a creative, it can be incredibly challenging to also be a strong business owner. That’s the reality for so many artists. It’s taken years of discipline, coaching, and a commitment to refining not just my craft, but my entire client experience. I’ve learned hard lessons along the way, and I’m grateful for them. To me, failure isn’t the opposite of success — it’s part of it.
What I most want the world to know is that my brand isn’t just about pretty photos. It’s built on heart, presence, and care. I pour my soul into what I do because I believe my clients deserve more than just a transactional experience. They’re inviting me into some of the most meaningful moments of their lives, and that is something I hold with so much respect and gratitude.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my gosh, this is a hard one! Colorado is such a beautiful, diverse place, and depending on the season, my itinerary would look totally different. But I’ll share some of my favorite spots, eats, and experiences that I think really capture the spirit of Colorado:
I’d definitely take them to the Western Slope — it’s full of charming towns, dramatic landscapes, and endless adventure opportunities. Driving through Rocky Mountain National Park is a must; it’s breathtaking every time.
In the summer, Crested Butte in July is pure magic with its wildflower blooms and incredible hiking trails. And of course, I’d plan a night out to see a show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre or Dillon Amphitheater — there’s nothing quite like live music with a Colorado sunset backdrop.
For some relaxation, I’d sneak in a weekday visit to Iron Mountain Hot Springs and head straight for the adult‑only section — thank me later!
When it comes to food, my all‑time favorite restaurant in Colorado is Rootstalk in Breckenridge; it’s such a special spot. Closer to home on Denver’s west side, I love the pastries from Black Box Bakery, dinner at US Thai Cafe (green curry & drunken noodles), and then taking a sunset walk around Crown Hill Park is so peaceful.
There’s honestly so much more I could mention, and it would take more than a week to see it all — but those are the places and moments that come to mind right now! 😊

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It might sound cheesy, but it’s the absolute truth — I have to give a shoutout to my wife, my life partner. She truly embodies what it means to be a partner in every sense of the word. I’m so grateful to her for the success I’ve found in my business.
She’s been an entrepreneur her whole life, having sold her first business for six figures and now ranking in the top 1.5% of realtors in the country. I’m genuinely learning from the best.
Beyond being an incredible businesswoman, she’s an amazing human — and that’s what has really kept her thriving all these years. She’s also now a coach, teaching and leading others through their own business journeys. Fiercely loyal to her family and friends, she generously shares her knowledge and support, impacting so many around her. She’s truly an inspiration to me.
She also bought me my first nice professional camera when I told her I wanted to turn my passion into a career, introduced me to my first business coach, and has always encouraged me to invest in myself and prioritize the client experience. Her support has been invaluable every step of the way.
As for who has shaped me personally, I’m deeply grateful for my family. It truly took a village to raise me. With very young parents, my aunt, uncle, and grandma stepped in to care for me at different points in my life. Their unwavering dedication to making sure I felt loved, supported, and given opportunities for a better life is something I will carry with me always.
They are humble people with huge hearts, and our roots trace back to Mexico, where my great-grandmother immigrated from. So, sacrifice, loyalty, love, and the pursuit of a better life runs deep in my blood — and that legacy fuels everything I do.
