We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra Strong-Tehrani and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kendra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my law firm stemmed from both personal and professional motivations. First, becoming a parent for the first time ignited a desire to create a legacy and inspire my son to pursue his dreams. I wanted to build something he could be proud of. Simultaneously, I sought to transition from personal injury litigation to a more proactive and preventative area of law that would provide me with better control over my schedule and passion about my work.
I identified a gap in the traditional model of estate planning, which often treats clients as mere transactions rather than individuals with evolving needs whether that be changes to their family or their assets. I aspired to redefine this approach by offering a service rooted in empathy, understanding, and continuous support. For me, estate planning isn’t just about drafting documents; it is about building lasting relationships and providing ongoing guidance tailored to each family’s unique circumstances.
Given the nature of my own blended family and having recently become a mom (that worries about everything!), I felt a deep calling to focus on serving families with minor children. I firmly believe that estate planning is absolutely ESSENTIAL for parents with young children. My mission became centered around educating and empowering parents to prioritize this critical aspect of their financial and emotional planning so that they can leave a legacy of love.
What should our readers know about your business?
Strong Law specializes in estate planning with a particular emphasis on families with minor children. We assist parents in creating comprehensive plans to protect their assets and ensure the welfare of their children in the event of incapacity or death. Our deep understanding of the unique challenges and concerns that families and business owners face when planning for the future help us to prioritize personalized attention and tailor-made solutions to address each family’s specific needs and circumstances. A few services that set us apart are our Kids Protection Plans, Legacy Interviews, and our review process.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping parents achieve peace of mind knowing that their children will be cared for according to their wishes. My process is designed to keep families out of court and out of conflict.
My journey has been characterized by a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation to evolving legal landscapes, but also applying my background in litigation to help identify areas of concerns when it comes to estate plan and asset protection. I’ve overcome challenges by staying informed and proactive in my education while fostering a supportive network within the legal community.
I’ve learned the importance of clear communication and education from a client’s perspective. We empower our clients with knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about their estate plans, fostering a sense of confidence and control over their family’s future.
Our brand is built on trust, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving the best interests of our clients and their families. I strive to be more than just some attorney that did their estate plan – I aim to be a trusted partner dedicated to helping families achieve peace of mind and security.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a Colorado native, I love exploring Colorado and being outdoors as much as possible. Give me a good patio and a margarita to keep me happy! I don’t get out as much as I would like but I am always looking for fun new places with good drinks and food.
If a friend was visiting, we would definitely have to go to White Chocolate Grill for a meal or the Stanley Marketplace. I love visiting 5 Star Salt Caves and Jalan Facial Spa for some relaxation and the Castle Rock Incline for a fun workout.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have had several friends and mentors throughout my career and more specifically during my transition to estate planning. These other lawyers have not only laid the foundation but have graciously given me support, resources, training, material, and opportunities that I am incredibly thankful for. Rather than seeing me as competition, they have fully embraced collaboration and connection.
I also owe a lot of my success to my referral partners. I learned early on in law school that networking and connections will serve you well. You need to provide value and build relationships where people know, like, and trust you enough to refer you to their family, friends, and clients.
