We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerri Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kerri, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always seen myself as a constant creator—someone who’s naturally drawn to bringing beauty into the world through a visual lens. My first venture was a retail store in Cherry Creek North called **Americana Home Collection**, which I opened at just 26. Since then, starting businesses has just been part of who I am—whether it was interior design, staging, photo shoot styling, or even a party website, it was never a big debate, just a feeling of *this is what I’m doing next* because it lit me up. With this latest venture, I wanted to take everything I’ve learned over the years and really show up—creating something meaningful while always evolving, improving, and staying curious.

What should our readers know about your business?
I opened Confía Collective, a modern metaphysical store, first online on 2.22.22 and then on South Pearl Street in Denver on 9.22.22. At Confía, we carry tarot decks, crystals, jewelry, self-help books, but what truly sets us apart is the energy behind it all. We deeply honor the roots and traditions of what we share while creating a space that’s wildly inclusive, beginner-friendly, and full of heart. This isn’t your typical metaphysical shop, it’s a vibe. You might come in for a crystal and leave with clarity, connection, or maybe even a spontaneous dance under the disco balls. I started Confía because I began my spiritual journey later in life and couldn’t find a space where I felt safe to be curious, so I created one. Getting here hasn’t always been easy. Like any small business, there have been challenges, learning curves, growth edges, and lots of moments of trust, but I’ve met each one with love, resilience, and an open heart. What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built and the lives we’ve touched. At the end of the day, I want the world to know that Confía is more than a store – it’s an invitation to come as you are, explore what lights you up, and remember that you already have everything you need inside of you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ooooh, I love this question! My family is vegan and we live in the Highlands, so let’s start there. We’d leash up the goldens and stroll through the neighborhood, passing beautiful homes that are over a century old, on our way to our go-to breakfast spot: Odie B’s. We’re obsessed with the Vegan Hustler burrito, so much so that they know us by name! After breakfast, we’d make our way to Confluence Park for a little nature fix by the river, then wander through the old Forney train museum, now the iconic flagship REI, such a fun mix of history and adventure. If there’s a concert at Red Rocks, we’re absolutely there, it’s pure magic under the stars. Dinner out is always a treat, especially at local favorites like Uncle for ramen, Kawa Ni for small plates, and if we can snag a res in advance, Alma Fonda Fina is a must. We’d wrap the day with a visit to the MCA for the latest modern art exhibit, then head up to the rooftop for a drink, ideally timed with some live music and a killer sunset. We’d definitely mix in a morning paddle at Big Soda Lake there’s nothing like starting the day on the water and maybe spend the afternoon tubing down the river in Golden, soaking up the sun and good vibes. One of my absolute favorite things? Dancing in the park with The Joyset, led by my radiant friend Leigh Orne – it’s pure, freeing joy. And if you’re ever grappling with a big decision or just need a little guidance, we’d swing by Confía Collective for a tarot, astrology, or intuitive reading because sometimes a little energetic clarity is exactly what you need to get unstuck and feel empowered.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give the biggest shoutout to my husband and children – for always rooting me on, believing in me, and giving me the space to dream big and create freely. Most recently, I’m incredibly grateful for Amelia Broughton, who I first met during a Human Design workshop. (Human Design is a powerful self-discovery system that combines astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and the chakra system to reveal your unique energetic blueprint—offering deep insight into how you’re designed to move through the world, make aligned decisions, and embody your most authentic self.
) That connection led to a year-long journey together with her as my leadership coach. Amelia showed up with such presence and zero judgment, creating a safe space for me to fully own my gifts as a leader and get crystal clear on my vision for Confía.
