We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Timmons-Beutner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The main reason for our success is because KTI is diversified covering all aspects of Interior Design. Because of our 3 studios (Hospitality, Interior Merchandising and Luxury Residential) we have been able to weather the ups and downs of the economy over the years. Our three studios work independently, but share ideas, expertise and resources which strengthens the company as a whole. Additionally, our commitment to always delivering an extraordinary client experience has played a role as we have many repeat clients and referrals.

The evolution of our brand has been vital in the types of projects and clients that we attract. The brand has grown and changed as the company has, and is a reflection of who we are and what we do. We value authenticity and consistency in our branding which shows clients what they can expect from us as their interior designer.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
KTI started in a spare bedroom of my home, and has grown to a 25-person team and 25 years of design. Our three studios are luxury residential, interior merchandising, and hospitality. This diversity of design is what sets us apart from other firms. We are based in Denver, but have completed projects all over the U.S. and abroad. Our designs combine timeless design principles and modern trends for award-winning, beautiful designs that stand the test of time. Throughout the years, I’ve learned that owning a business means people are depending on you every day to succeed. There is a solution to every problem. I’m proud to say that KTI has become what I sought out to create 25 years ago: a design-focused firm that creates unique spaces with true mastery. Details matter to us, and it shows in the final product and when our clients are delighted.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely go out for a steak dinner at Guard & Grace. Our hospitality studio designed the restaurant and it’s one of the best meals you can get in Denver, thanks to chef Troy Guard. The ambiance of the restaurant is incredible!

A walk around Wash Park is a great way to spend an afternoon. The large green space and little ponds are so refreshing in the city.

Postino is one of my favorite places to enjoy brunch, lunch or happy hour on the outdoor patio. Their wine selection is wonderful and the bruschetta boards are unmatched.

If there’s a performer in town that you enjoy, a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a must. There is nothing like the natural acoustics and incredible atmosphere.

Of course, we are in Colorado, so it’s great to enjoy the mountains up-close with a hike. Estes Park has plenty of trails of all levels and you’re sure to have amazing views.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
After 25 years in business, I look at my mentors, colleagues and employees with appreciation and gratitude. Without your help and guidance along the way, KTI wouldn’t be the success it is today. Thank you for your support and dedication.
