We had the good fortune of connecting with Kory Nolen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kory, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I actually stumbled upon the idea of starting a detailing business. In 2017 I financed a 2013 Mustang GT (black paint of course) and before i ever got it home, I stopped at the local Auto Zone to load up on various entry level detailing supplies. I always wanted a “race-car” growing up so finally having one was a dream come true i guess you could say. That being said, it had to be kept looking as perfect as possible at all times. Being in the military is stressful, especially being law enforcement. So, it was therapeutic for me to sit down and care for the Mustang. Fast forward 1 month, I had done a few close friends vehicles and during the final walk around with one of them it hit me. I started this as a relaxation time which has turned into a hobby/passion. I could make money doing this. Now, here we are today!

What should our readers know about your business?
Bailey and I run Arsenal to be what a lot of businesses sadly aren’t in todays day and age. Honest, Overdelivering, Trustworthy, and Responsible. I am most proud/excited about how much i know while understanding how much i can still learn. From new methods i can incorporate into certain detailing procedures, new coatings or products on the market to marketing techniques and tips to strengthen the business side of things. You can bet if i am on my phone, its to better our brand.

Getting to where we are today was honestly not hard. It had its challenges but, as dedicated and passionate as I was to learn, better my craft, and show people what i could do everything kind of fell into place.

A lesson I learned from Arsenals growing is that following up and over delivering are key. Stay in touch with clients after the vehicle is done. Make sure that are 1000% satisfied.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh, absolutely! All of my friends and military family in Alabama. My mom, dad and siblings.

The Auto Detailing Podcast for the wealth of knowledge that Jimbo Balaam produces.

Jeremy Stevens, owner of Shine Supply and Stevens Detailing

Finally, my wife and Co-Owner Bailey Nolen. She is the one that keeps me from drowning under the weight of being active duty while running a business. I love her to death.
