We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Rosenbaum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind creating K2 Event Co. started brewing during the beginning of Covid. Our founder, Kristen Rosenbaum, was working on a weddings, events and corporate team yet could not seem to shake the idea of setting out to create something specifically geared towards the client perspective being at the forefront. K2 was born with the goal of emphasizing the personal touches and ideas that bring the client’s unique vision to life. Since we started in June 2020, our team has grown, perfectly positioning us to embrace the original K2 vision – a full service event planning company that brings to life single day to week-long events, elevating any wedding, birthday or corporate event to tremendous heights. We create an environment where our clients can be involved as much or as little as they prefer throughout the planning process and enjoy a stress-free experience as we help curate their special celebration.

What should our readers know about your business?
Without question, one of the most important factors behind K2’s success has been building and nurturing wonderful vendor relationships. Not only does it make our work so much more enjoyable, but we all also support each other in successes and challenges that come with the territory of event planning.

Creating a great event truly takes a village. Ensuring that everyone involved feels appreciated and supported is a huge part of the ethos of the K2 brand and is a top priority to Kristen, Trisha, and the entire K2 Event team.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Telluride, I would wine and dine them at The National and 221 South Oak, whose menus are stunning. We’d also visit some of my favorite local watering holes: The Last Dollar Saloon (best rooftop for cocktails!) and Telluride Brewing Company for great, locally brewed beers.

Obviously you can’t visit Telluride without getting outside and enjoying the mountains. Starting the morning with a cup of joe from the Coffee Cowboy before hitting the Bear Creek Trail for a hike is a perfect day. As the week progressed, I would have Mountaintrip guide us on the Via Ferrata and mountain bike some of my favorite local trails and hit the Ouray Hot Springs.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m so excited to be growing our team! Not only do I have Trisha Cofield who came on board in December 2021, we have two additional teammates, Sarah Cherry and Morgan Dumaine, who always keep things fun and add their creative touches to every execution day!
