Meet Kyle Babcock and Hannah Babcock N/A | Founder and Creative Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Babcock and Hannah Babcock N/A and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyle Babcock and Hannah Babcock, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Working various corporate jobs has always left a desire to see our contributions payoff in a way that brings joy to others.
Wanting to break from the mundane, we strived to think of a creative business idea that would incorporate the attitude of thinking outside the box, and artistic talent. Hannah used to make annual Christmas cards, that her grandmother would have printed and mailed out to her entire family. Last Christmas we were reminiscing over this past tradition and wanted to bring it back to life. That desire to bring back nostalgic moments spurred the creation of our business.
Now, as The Print Heads, we can take our shared passion for bringing moments from our lives to print and share it with others.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Every item that we sell is handmade. This means the art is hand-drawn and the product is created in our home. Every business has to start somewhere. This one happens to be in our living room. There have been many challenges throughout perfecting our products. How often do you have a positive experience with a printer? Exactly. There are so many variables in place with the products we create. Tumbler and coffee prints must be heat transferred at precise temperatures or the image will be ruined. The same precision is required with our stickers. Blade depth, cut speed, and force all play a role in creating a perfect die cut sticker. We’ve failed many times to perfect this process, but we move forward with the inspiration of creating a high quality product that brings smiles to our customers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being near the heart of both Lafayette and Louisville, there’s never a shortage of things to do. We enjoy biking down to either Louisville’s Main Street or Old Town Lafayette and shopping the unique local shops. In Lafayette, we love browsing the local Lafayette Flea Market, grabbing a taco from Teocali Cocina, and playing board games at Odd13 Brewing. In Louisville, it’s hard to beat getting brunch at Huckleberry, lounging at Crystal Springs Brewing’s beautiful patio, and playing a few rounds of pinball at Tilt.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our relationship has been the foundation of the business. Managing a business and a relationship simultaneously can be tough, but we help each other grow every day by working through frustrations and celebrating successes. There are a lot of setbacks when prototyping and applying designs to a product. However, it’s a great feeling once we accomplish our desired results.
We’d also like to thank all the grandmas out there who believe in their grandchildren no matter the circumstance. Our grandmas have always been there for us, from inspiring creative passions, to mentoring us through rebellious phases in life. We wouldn’t be where we are today without them!
