We had the good fortune of connecting with Kylie Grooters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kylie, what do you attribute your success to?
When I was first introduced to SweatNET Denver in 2019, it was a way for me to be connected to my community. I had the opportunity to go around to gyms and studios as an ambassador and meet local owners and try out their fitness classes. After a long year of Covid-19, government restrictions and endless unanswered questions it looked like SweatNET Denver was not going to be re-launched by the previous owners. I knew from my own experience with the company that the Denver community needed the SweatNET brand because it acted as an avenue of connection. When I took over ownership in July of 2021, the first thing I did was spend 6-weeks having face-to-face meetings with all the local gym/studio owners. I knew for this business to be successful I needed to have authentic human interaction. Our world is in a place that more than ever we need relationships. As we began to relaunch the business and host events across Denver I began to see those relationships form not only between myself and other business owners, but between members and even between other businesses who were introduced through SweatNET. Nothing is more powerful than knowing a members name as they walk into an event and asking them how their vacation was or how their new job is going. Success isn’t always based on how much money is coming through the door. For SweatNET Denver it is the relationships that are being formed within our community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
SweatNET Denver is a membership based community all about health and wellness. Our members pay $9.95/month and in return they get exclusive discounts to over 100 local health + wellness companies across Denver. They also get to attend all of our events, which we host 4-5 times each month, for free! Our goal is to encourage our members to live a healthier lifestyle, whether they are attending fun fitness events or using discounts at local meal prep businesses as a way to eat healthier.

What I also love about SweatNET Denver is that it supports the businesses in our community. It is completely free for local businesses to partner with us and be listed on our website. We want to be an avenue to help promote them and connect our members to new places they may have never found on their own. Not only have we connected members to businesses, but we’ve also been able to connect like-minded businesses owners.

I took over ownership of SweatNET Denver in July of 2021 and have loved every minute of it. Of course there are always days as an entrepreneur that are tough, but when I look at how far I have come and the community that has grown from this business I am reminded of my ‘why’.

As I reflect on the past 6 months, there is one pivotal moment I won’t ever forget. After one of our Saturday morning events I had one of our members invite me to join her for brunch to celebrate the end of her school semester. I said I would join and she mentioned that she invited everyone that was at the event, even people she didn’t know. The post-workout brunch was not only a celebration, but it was evidence that relationships were being formed and community was cultivating from the task I get to call my job. Many days I simply sit back and smile because I truly get to do what I love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite things to do when friends or family are visiting is take them on a tour of downtown Denver. We usually enjoy brunch around Union Station and enjoy a nice walk around Coors Field and along the river after. Lunch is usually in RiNo at Park Burger followed by a mini brewery tour with the sights of street art along the way and of course a visit to one of the many roof top bars for the sunset. And it wouldn’t be a tour of downtown without ending the night at Little Man’s ice cream! Denver is full of endless options, but nothing is quite like the foothills and the mountains. I love strolling around Golden and gathering people together at Golden Mill for a sunny afternoon.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Success is not always cultivated by one individual person and in my case it came with the support of many! I am beyond grateful for all the people who have encouraged me to pursue my passions. From old co-workers, to friends and family, but I am truly thankful for my parents. They have always been my role models for chasing my dreams. As my dad always says, “Don’t dream of living someday, but live your dream today!”
