We had the good fortune of connecting with Lalania Simone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lalania, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My business partner Flor Marquez and I were friends and colleagues at a local non-profit. We saw the opportunity to create something beautiful with the intention to help others heal and grow. We are both deeply spiritual and entrepreneurial minded women who desired to be of service to others. I am grew up in the Curtis Park area, so it felt very aligned to work and serve this community as well as the greater Denver area.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Alchemy is a metaphysical shop and we to cater to many different spiritual traditions. We offer spiritual and intuitive readings as well as healing sessions at our Ancestral Medicine Clinic. All services are donation based to expand access to non-western healing modalities. Flor and I both worked on other businesses while running Alchemy so that we could supplement our incomes. Our business grew with grassroots, word-of-mouth, support. When you find alignment with your passion and business, and are willing to flow and learn as you go, many beautiful things can unfold.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would drive them out to South Broadway to the Gypsy House for coffee, and have a good Mexican meal at D’Corazon downtown. Walk through RiNo to check out the Crush Walls. We have incredible tattoo artists, great eats, and the mountains! I love taking folks up to Manitou Springs for a day trip.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our success is a product of our loyal customer base. We are incredibly grateful for those who show up and support our work!
