Meet LaTroy Bowman | Podcaster & Music Producer and John Perkins | DJ & Podcaster

We had the good fortune of connecting with LaTroy Bowman and John Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaTroy and John, what role has risk played in your life or career?
John
Risks are a huge part of life. I’ve had to take many to get to the points I’m at in my life. Risks not only show you the importance of trusting the process, but they allow you to grow and develop in your life/craft.

LaTroy
Stepping out my comfort zones is a risk. If you want to grow and develop a brand, you have to take risks. Plus you have to discover yourself as you get older, and one of the ways of doing that is taking risks. It helps you figure out what your comfortable and not comfortable with.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

LaTroy
I’m most proud of not giving up. Anybody that tell you that’s easy pursuing you dreams and goals are liars. Just staying consistent and not getting down on yourself is hard in its self. Especially when you see everyone else around you having success and your not. You can’t get caught up in other people success, then your start doubting yourself. I want everybody to know we not stopping anytime soon, continue to support the podcast.

John
I am a DJ and Podcaster. Both paths were not easy. DJing involved me to put myself out there to win clients. Also broke me out of my shell to further increase my skills as a host. Podcasting caused me to have to know myself more. I needed to have actual opinions on things and how I felt about them. I learned that no matter what you want in life you have to work for it, and that’s why my brands are all about.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
John
Some of my favorite places here are TopGolf, Arlington vineyards, and the downtown area. Nothing beats a drink and sunshine and these places provide that every time for me

LaTroy
Nashville, TN has a lot of different options, As far as drinks & food, my personal favorites are, M.L. Rose, Smokin thighs, & Juicy Seafood, There’s so many rooftop bars here to see the view of Nashville especially down in Broadway on a nice beautiful day or night, mixed in with Riverfront Park. Bourbon Street Blues and boogie bar, always live music, and good vibes. Also the National Museum of African American Music is a nice stop. If love go-karts, try music city indoor karting. Plenty to do, and eat in Nashville when visiting.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
John

I want to shoutout to my 7 month old son, Kashton. He’s motivated me to be better and go harder at everything I do. I’ve learned and grown so much in the last year because of him.

LaTroy

Well I always have to shout out the person upstairs; pray everyday for success, health, & love. Next got be my mom of course. Its always a blessing to have someone you can talk to about anything, and always encourage you to do better.
I have a lot friends that I’ve met through the podcast that are successful, to see them have success in there respectful fields gives me fuel to keep going and never give up.
