We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first began my business it was from a place of my own inner healing. I had significant work on myself that I had to do in order to be capable of changing my own thought patterns, emotions, and energetic alignment so that I could turn my life around. This led me down a rabbit hole of both conventional and spiritual practices that ultimately not only allowed me to turn my life around but take it to new heights. Before I began to blend the conventional with the spiritual practices I discovered, I struggled for so long to make lasting and sustainable change and progress. Yet, once I began to work with these practices. the progress, success, and turnaround I ached for came effortlessly. As I reflected on this, it made the decision to begin offering these modalities to others became a no-brainer. I knew so many people close to me and that collectively many around the world were settling and struggling to improve themselves and their lives. Those who were stuck in the “this is just how it is” mindset or who were struggling in various other ways who, with these practices and modalities, would be able to release that struggle. This collective struggle was what ultimately prompted me to turn what I knew into a business. I believe that everyone deserves the chance to live their absolute best life. To make struggles, challenges, and heartbreaking disappointment a thing of the past and prove to themselves that they have the capacity to create the life they desire. And 21 years later, I can say it was one of the best choices that I have made. I make a living helping others build the life they had long fought for and started to give up on, and as much as it benefits them, it gives me such a feeling of absolute gratitude to be a part of that transformation.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Intuitive Alchemy, a service-based business that blends conventional methods with spiritual and intuitive modalities to transform women’s lives from the inside out. While many in the intuitive wellness industry focus on just the intuitive or energetic aspects of our being, I standout by bringing together the whole self; when I work with someone, we address each aspect of their being by going into the body, the mind, the heart, the energetic, and the frequency that comprises their energetic atmosphere. This brings them back into the clarity of who they truly are, what they’re truly capable of, and ultimately gives them the buoyancy to reach new heights within their life. The ethos behind all of my work is the belief that we are so much more than we’ve been told and that we all have the ability to live a life abundant with joy, prosperity, wellness, love, and anything else we desire. I build everything around the strong belief that regardless of where we come from, the mistakes we’ve made, or the path we’ve been on, we are fully capable of turning things around and redesigning our lives. And at the end of the day, I am walking, talking proof that this is true. When I first started learning about my abilities and delving deep into the human experience’s psychology and spiritual nature, I was a single mother in college, living off 10k a year. I was on government assistance and struggled with substance dependence, abusive relationships, and feeling that I would never expand beyond what I had always known; poverty, living paycheck to paycheck, utilities being shut off and moving when we couldn’t afford rent, and even living in hotels as a kid when we couldn’t find a place to rent. That was not the life I wanted to live, and it was not the life I wanted my then young son to live. I was determined to first work on myself, and as I did, I realized that I didn’t know of a single person who would not benefit from what I had learned and the unique way I worked. When I first began my business, I was offering only intuitive Tarot readings. Still, the more I learned, the more I realized that knowing only what is ahead for us is useless unless we know how to work with the given insight. The transition from doing only readings to blending readings with healing work, coaching, and energetic activations was a challenge at first because I had to establish an entirely new customer base. Thankfully, I entered this phase when social media was becoming a major thing. Hence, I had an avenue to begin establishing connections with those aligned with the offerings I was providing. I was scared at first, and there were a few lean months as I established myself in this new role, but it was a risk worth taking. I learned that when we lean into our own medicine, we can accomplish anything and that if there is anyone kiss of death to our achieving what we desire, it’s giving up on ourselves. This refusal to give up ultimately brought me to where I am today. Today, I have a clientele of celebrities, CEOs, authors, small business owners, and everyday people like me who are tired of settling and are ready for real transformation. I’ve been featured in publications worldwide and serve a global community, which I envisioned when I first began this business. I had no idea how I would make it happen, but with the same tools that I teach my clients, I made that vision a reality.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Visiting Red Rocks for Yoga on the Rocks is a must! If there was a concert that week, I would make sure we have tickets for that as well because there is nothing quite like seeing a live show at Red Rocks. I would book us for a complete spa package at Five Star Salt Caves Wellness. We would drop into Ritualcravt, where I read cards and teach, to peruse all the candles, plants, spiritual tools they provide and lounge with some of the greatest people and readers that I’ve come across in my 21 years in this business. Because we are both art and history nerds we would spend hours venturing through the Denver Art, Nature and Science museums and the Botanic Gardens. I would definitely want to check out when the next Light show and meditation was being held by The International Church of Cannabis so we could get our vibe on. And knowing us we would definitely book with the Denver Ziplines, do a little white water rafting. Though Denver has many amazing and out-of-this-world restaurants, there is nothing we enjoy more than coming up with a full menu and cooking it together along with a bottle of delicious red wine from Purgatory Cellars Winery.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my success first to my grandfather, Marvin, who would tell me every day that knowledge is power. It’s this love of learning that ultimately has turned me into a life-long learner who is unafraid of venturing into new territory to improve what I offer in service to others. I also dedicate my success to my parents. They struggled and fought their entire lives for every inch of what they gained and I am grateful for their hard work. Their struggle was what ultimately gave me the inspiration to believe that there has to be another way and every time I achieve a new height in my life I think of them and know they are watching over with pride and love.
