We had the good fortune of connecting with Laura and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura, what matters most to you?
The principle that matters most to me is empowerment through education. As an exercise physiologist, I believe that when people understand how their bodies work and what they truly need to thrive, they’re more likely to make sustainable choices that support their health. I’ve seen firsthand how confusing and overwhelming the wellness industry can be—especially for busy women and moms—so my goal is to simplify, educate, and help people feel confident in their decisions. Empowerment isn’t just about motivation; it’s about giving people the tools and knowledge to take control of their health for the long haul.

What should our readers know about your business?
I founded E2O Denver Health + Performance, where we focus on strength training, physiology testing (like VO2max and RMR), and realistic health coaching—especially for women and busy moms. What sets us apart is our evidence-based, individualized approach. We blend science with practical strategies to help people feel strong, capable, and empowered without the overwhelm.

Getting here definitely wasn’t easy. I started as a clinical exercise physiologist working long shifts in the hospital. But it wasn’t sustainable for my young family and all the time I spent away from home. Now we’re a growing team with a new brand and a full suite of services. I’ve had to navigate burnout, financial hurdles, mom guilt—you name it. But I’ve learned to ask for help, to stay flexible, and to keep my mission front and center: empowering people with knowledge and tools that actually work.

At the end of the day, E2O is about helping people cut through the noise and feel confident in their own health journey. This isn’t just a job—it’s a movement. And I’m proud to be part of changing the narrative around women’s health and performance throughout the lifetime.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for a week, we’d kick things off with a walk through City Park and hit the Sunday farmers market—grabbing coffee and snacks while the kids run around. One day we’d head to Roxborough State Park or Staunton State Park for a hike; they’re two of my favorite spots because they offer everything from tough hikes to kid friendly paths, so everyone can enjoy the day and it’s not too far of a drive from Denver.

We’d definitely eat our way through some of Denver’s walkable neighborhoods—Stanley Marketplace is always a go-to for food, drinks, and a cool local vibe. I also love exploring RiNo for its murals, people watching, and patios. And honestly, some of the best moments happen during a laid-back picnic at a neighborhood park with good food and company. Denver’s balance of outdoor adventure and chill community spots is what makes it so special.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to my mom—she’s my behind-the-scenes hero who helps care for my kids so I can show up fully in my work and pursue my dreams as a business owner. To my kids: you are my biggest inspiration. Every day, you remind me why this work matters. I want to help change the landscape of women’s health so that when you grow up, you’ll feel empowered, supported, and have real choices when it comes to your well-being.
