We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Radie and Heather Rzepiennik and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren and Heather, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
As moms, we were tired of the “screen guilt” and wanted our kids be growing physically and mentally through play. Plus we wanted to enjoy a warm meal and an adult conversation! Crayons and coloring sheets at restaurants just don’t cut it – they are rarely age appropriate and consume about 5 seconds of a sit down meal. We always had a bag of toys in our purses, but one time when out together, we forgot our “bag of tricks” and boy – was that a rough meal! We thought – this should be available on the menu – and voila! The Bizzy Bag was born!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Starting The Bizzy Bag has been so much fun! We launched during the heart of the pandemic, so we have had time to take it slow and truly learn what works and make tweaks along the way. We are the only product of it’s kind; there are a ton of busy bags and boxes in the market, but we are the only ones available when you need it most – right at the table, or car dealership, or doctors office – and soon on airlines too!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. Heather, is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We are grateful for all of our restaurant partners. We have a lot of locations in the Denver area, but shout out to Living the Dream Brewery in Littleton and Bruz Beers in Denver – they have been with us since day one and we are so grateful for their partnership!
