We had the good fortune of connecting with Leah Rich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I paint and dye clothing and art with botanical and mineral inks. I bring my love of graphic design to fiber art, painting and layering onto fabrics. My clothes are gender fluid and all the fiber I use is second hand sourced. I love taking a discarded t shirt from the thrift store and turning it into a painting you can wear. Being a slow fashion designer is a big challenge because everything I do takes time. Dyeing with plants takes days and days, but it essential for me as a conscious maker that I am not contributing to the fast fashion crisis. I want to help show folks what clothing can be like when we embrace our own individual styles, and value clothes more than something to throw away after a couple wears.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My friends and family have always been so supportive of my creative pursuits, I know I couldn’t be here without them. My spouse Jasper encouraged me to quit my job and challenge myself to create a business and my friends and family bought some of my first items when I launched my website. They helped me build confidence in the crucial early stages, enabling me to keep going.
