We had the good fortune of connecting with Leslie Weidel & Holly Knapp and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leslie Weidel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We realized through several in depth conversations about true crime documentaries that we had a lot of valuable insight and the cases always seemed to take us down entertaining and informative rabbit holes that we thought others would enjoy as much as we were. We found our selves asking more questions and finding answers that other podcasts weren’t answering for us. And we thought, others would definitely want to know these facts or theories as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
While we are both creative we are lucky enough to bring different things to the table. Holly is a writer, actor and wealth of true crime knowledge. Leslie is experienced in running her own successful business and full of fresh perspective and clever observations as well as a bevy of pop culture facts our audience loves. Together we’re able to compliment each other and provide our listeners with comprehensive information woven in a tapestry of immersive story telling, amusing anecdotes, fun facts and our quick and witty exchanges. Levity is key and thankfully we’re very good at putting it in the right places. We got where we are today by simply being persistent and consistent with our content and cultivating an active community, I think we’ve learned that the community is key. Not only that, but we also have a very solid team backing us up that we hope to add to in the future. It’s easy at first to think you can do it all yourself, but we have found that that simply isn’t true, we’d be lost without our team. I think what is unique to our brand is that we always try to see the world through the eyes of the victim. It’s easy to think that, were you in their shoes you could just run away or identify the bad guy in a crowd and avoid them, but we understand that it’s never that simple and if we were to put ourselves in the victims shoes, we would be dead.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to shoutout our Editor and Composer, and Leslie’s husband, Jon Katity. Jon immediately understood our vision for our podcast and helped shaped it to what it is today. The music he composes for the openings really helps us set the mood and is always on point. And yes, he composes a new piece of music and soundscapes EACH WEEK! Not to mention te hours he spends on just editing our podcast and making sure we sound crisp for our listeners. Without his expertise and willingness, we might not have been able to get our podcast off and running as fast and as successful as we did. Our listeners, who we call Fiends, look forward to Jons compositions each week and appreciate all the work he puts in to making each episode sound as clear as it does. It’s a good thing he is a horror fan, or else i’m not sure he would be able to stomach some of these episodes. We love you Jon!
