We had the good fortune of connecting with Lila Veronica and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lila, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Presence proceeds strategy

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have created my own movement modality to help busy professionals bring awareness to their body movements in 10 minute practices. I teach you how to walk, sit and stand so that you don’t harm your body with improper posture and alignment.

Your body is your billboard. How you show up in the world is how things show up for you!

I’m most proud that I’ve been able to speak to audiences & work with clients on all 7 continents, including Antarctica.

In 2014, I was teaching at The Ohio State University. I chose to leave a 15-year career in Environmental Science and Policy and I started my mindful movement and coaching business.

I felt a lot of guilt for 3 years, thinking I “should’ve” continued the environmental work. In 2017, I realized that everyone has things they leave to do something else. Everyone “quits” something or doesn’t finish a project along the way. I let go of judging myself, and that’s exactly when my business began to financially thrive!

I realized the work I do is for the inner environment of people. And when people’s inner environment is healthy the outer environment is healthy. I’m still doing, “environmental” work, just at a different level!

Even if it’s challenging, our inner self always knows what’s best for us! When we follow our hearts and deep knowingness, true success is possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I’ve had friends and family visiting Denver, I love taking them to Downpours on Tennyson for the best “dirty chai” in town or anywhere I’ve ever had it! Tacos, Tequila & Whiskey on 32nd is a wonderful, quaint location for a variety of taco options and a cute place to sit outside on the patio for lunch. For dinner, I enjoy showing visitors some of the best vegetarian/vegan food in town at City O’ City on E. 13th Avenue.

I always take people to see Red Rocks when they visit. I enjoy going when the visitor center is open so they can also learn more about the history of the space. It also gives people an opportunity to do a little hiking without driving too far from the city. I’ll often take a loop into Golden, to show them a little bit what a “mountain town,” looks and feels like.

One thing I love doing with visitors is taking them to a special mindfulness, breathing or meditation-type of class or workshop in the city. Denver has some of the greatest mind-body-spirit teachers in the world and the classes are typically wonderful for many levels of experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m giving a huge Shoutout to Robert & Vanessa Raymond for creating Achieve Systems in Denver and many other cities. Achieve is a community of hundreds of professional business owners who want to help more people. The Raymonds have helped me help more people & I love the work they are doing!
