We had the good fortune of connecting with Lily NOVA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lily, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Connecting with humanity, on many different levels, is what deeply exhilarates my soul. It lights me up to find like-minded individuals who are filled with passion and drive. I find it profound when two or more artists/creators/humans are able to cross collaborate brilliance and make ideas flourish. Nothing beats the feeling of euphoria caused by binding multiple inspirations that feed off of one another. For instance, my main producer, Vic Santinel, will send me some magical beats and I have the pleasure of writing melody lines and lyrics over it. Or sometimes I’ll be working with my friends we’ll all create a beat and melody within that same night & be like “YO DID WE JUST DO THAT?” Magic works fast if you have others around to contribute to it. Pure synergy. Being able to connect with these talented ass humans & inspire others to do the same is what makes my world go round.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want my artistry/music to encapsulate epic, dream-like elements that takes my audience to a place of euphoria & love. I think human emotion has the tendency to be veiled/disguised, which can cause deep-seated issues within the world today, (on many levels). My main purpose/ duty in this life is to spread awareness on the importance of mental freedom and passion. What sets me apart from others is that I am also a yoga instructor, who cares immensely for mind/body connection. I believe it is imperative that each individual must find mental stability & self love, in order to make all physical action more effective. I solely want to bring clarity to my audience so that they may, overall, feel more driven and excited about their lives and goals. My plan is to incorporate music, yoga, and public speaking in most of my performances around the world for healing purposes. Music alone is extremely healing, however I feel impelled to take the extra step to human enlightenment within my craft, by promoting healthy avenues to a beautiful life. There is no secret recipe for the steps to success, but once you have clear vision on what impact you want to make, the obstacles begin to disappear. The pathway to success is customized to each and every person, so it’s all about finding your “why” to help guide you. Struggle is inevitable and I’ve definitely gone through tough times that have shaped who I am today. My vocals have changed tremendously through years and years of practice. Lyrics and flow in my songwriting used to be a lot more difficult to execute. Finding your sound is truly one of the hardest parts about being an artist. My passion for music & remembering patience is what helps me persevere. There is a crazy amount of trial & error I’ve had to embrace, however every moment of struggle has helped me grow exponentially as an artist and human. I’m truly grateful for everything I’ve had the pleasure of learning throughout this journey. We have to fall in love with the hardships, in order to genuinely FEEL happiness. Once you begin to romanticize each side of the pendulum and recognize both sides are powerful, the faster things will come together. Mindset is everything, and once you view your fall backs as a plus, there’s not much space left for negativity. These are all things I remind my self as much as possible, to train my mind to look further into the bigger picture.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I moved to Denver in 2018 from Las Vegas, simply because it’s one of my favorite cities. Whenever I have friends come in, I love to make a lengthy itinerary because there’s so much I adore about this city & want them to see! Some food places I love to take my friends are Avanti (multi ethnic), Recess Beer Garden (American), Happy Camper (bomb pizza), Bang Up to the Elephant, My Neighbor Felix, Linger, STK, El Five, Maria Empanadas, The Molecule Effect (coffee), Que Bueno Suerte, Snooze (brunch), Jelly (brunch), and more. There are a few speakeasies in Cherry Creek and Larimer Square that are really great for drinks as well! 54thirty rooftop is also a dope spot. As far as leisure activities go, I love bringing my friends for picnics at Confluence Park, walks through Rino arts district, renting jet skis at Chatfield Lake, driving up to Vail to snowboard, going to Boulder for a hike, maybe going to soak at Pagosa Hot Springs…. the list goes on! Can you tell I love living in Denver? 😉
