We had the good fortune of connecting with Lina Verovaya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I cultivated a passion for art towards the end of High School. have spent most of my entire college years creating, editing, painting, designing, and doing photography. It has been the way that I have experienced much of the world. Photography is and will always be the universal language that speaks to the heart. That is why I started capturing destination weddings, engagements, couples, events, etc. on the side at a very early age during college. It put me in a position where you get to engage with different people everyday and serving them with the best of your ability.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Simply that I want to create more hope in the world. Pain and chaos exist and are unrelenting, I figure the best way to show that humanity, love, and peace do exist is by capturing it, to freeze that moment for a bit . One of the qualities that helps to set me apart from others is my refusal to be placed in a box creatively. I love to jump out and try new techniques.
When I do a photo session, it is not just another client, it is a personal project, I want them to leave that day with the feeling that there is trust, I do not demand time although some are hourly sessions but it’s all about client experience.
It was not easy for me to get where I am today, and to be clear, I know that I have an infinitely long way to go. However, I am on the road and constantly creating, getting better and evolving as a person and a photographer.
I think if I want the world to know or walk away with anything from my photography, it is that my art and style is authentic and truly God Inspired. Sometimes I go back to the images that flowed through me, and sometime, they resonate even more years later. That to me is everything.
There is no such thing as failure. Everything we do is a chance to learn and become better. No matter what it is, or how bad we might think we screw up, it is always an opportunity to learn and get better. I’ve learned to become so much more positive and to gather as many connections as I can along the way while on this journey.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m definitely that person that has ” the list” of all of the places you should go to, so this is my favorite question.
South Carolina area
If you’re an outdoor, adventurous person:
Blue Ridge Mountains
Craggy Gardens
Table Rock Mountain
Max Patch
Linville Falls

Rough Ridge Hiking Trail
If small towns, cute coffee shops are more of your vibe:

Greenville Downtown
Biltmore Estate
RH Rooftop Restraunt
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be doing what I love today without the support and guidance of many others. I’m grateful for the opportunity to give a shout-out, because I sincerely appreciate my family, and friends every step of the way! Though multiple people come to mind for a shout-out, Evie Rupp and Lindsey Roman from the Heart University have been great mentors through every stage of this business, right from the start.
