We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Marcelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work balance has shifted drastically since having a little girl in 2018. Now I prioritize my work schedule around her schedule as does my husband. Luckily, it all works out since she is a great sleeper, haha. We prioritize family first and always have, but now we focus on spending more time during the day as a family. I love the current life/work schedule.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At Girls Gone Rx, I run and manage over 30+ events a year. These range from in person to online events. We started in our previously owned CrossFit gym and hosted our first event in 2012. It was all about trying to do something for my mom, who had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer (she is now cancer free) There was a steep learning curve of hosting events and then taking our brand globally. All the challenges along the way were fun and helped us build a better brand. Knowing that our mission is to Compete for a Cure, the challenges were all worth it since we were doing something for a great cause. To date, our events have raised over $1Million for Breast and Ovarian Health Organizations across the globe. We want everyone to be a part of our mission and support the ladies who compete in our events, whether by cheering them on in person or donating to their pages.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think if we had visitors to Colorado, we would head up to the mountains. Spend some time in Breckenridge, check out the distillery, ski, etc. I think most come to Colorado for the mountains and there are endless things to do outside. Our fave little dinner place is luigi’s pasta house in Keystone!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our shout out is to all those who support the Girls Gone Rx mission of Compete for a Cure. Our global all-women competitions and events encourage fun and fitness while raising awareness for Breast Cancer. We want to continue celebrating all the powerful women who want to change the world. Thanks to everyone’s support, Our events have raised over $1Million for Bright Pink & Breast and Ovarian Health Organizations across the globe.
