We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathleen Sargent and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kathleen, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
This is such a great question! I define whether to keep going (stay and persevere) or give up (move on; it is determined this is not a good fight investment) by the internal press. Holy Spirit sweetly reminds me not to quit or He simply keeps a certain level of drive/fire lit within me that I can not extinguish. I am the founder/owner of Integrity Accessories. The primary purpose of this business is making CLEAN sugar and salt scrubs for the body. They are used to exfoliate the face, hands – THE BODY. 🙂 We also make a facial spray called, The Refresher. It is good for males and females. You can spray it as often as you like for a quick ‘refreshing. Ladies, you can use it as a moisture spray before, after or before and after your makeup application. I am currently in the process of making a clean linen spray that can also be used as often as you like. I say as often as you like because we know, many of us do not make up our beds on a daily basis. 🙂 I am also working in collaboration on a Discipleship manual that can be used as a new membership curriculum in ministry and personally a workbook to accompany my published book…From Heart to Your Heart. These are two prime examples of not being able to quit! I have tried to ignore it, intentionally forget it and many other things we do thinking it’s not for us or we made it up or whatever excuse we come up with. I currently do a Facebook LIVE broadcast called Chilln with Purpose. It is a broadcast designed to ‘rescue the heart and the mind’. I will also take the steps to have it streamed live on You Tube and Instagram. Another don’t give up that can’t be ignored. So, in a nutshell, how do I know and probably, how do you know? You know because it just won’t leave you alone. It may seem like it went away and then it happens….I’M BACK so let’s git ur done!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most excited about being a mother to an amazing daughter. She is my natural starting point. If it’s not going to bring respect and something she would smile about, it’s not worth doing. Above her always and forever, is God. If He ain’t pleased, then no one else is worth pleasing! I enjoy being an Administrator. Not only is it a talent, it is a gift from God. Administration goes well beyond answering the phone, dictation (probably telling my age there) and greeting customers. It’s executing a plan/purpose, bringing people together, pulling out of people the greatness they possess as Holy Spirit reveals it…….. I want the world to know I am absolutely tickled to be in the Kingdom of God. So excited He drew me with His loving kindness shole nuff!!!! I want the world to know that no matter how low you have sunk, it’s not too low that God can not reach in and pull you out. I want the world to know that on the days that defeat is the best option, go to bed and live again tomorrow because you are closer to victory than the day before! I want the world to know that every gift God has given, He would very much like us to use and that includes being your unique authentic self!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we are making a full day of it, we would start right in my kitchen for a homemade breakfast! French toast or pancakes, bacon, fluffy cheese eggs, home fries with onions and peppers, orange juice, cranberry juice and my special coffee. Then I would take you to The Garden of the Gods, there is no denying the glory of God there and it’s naturally breath taking! Tour through Manitou Springs. After we have walked off breakfast, it is definitely time to scout out an old fashion ice cream spot (pick one on the strip) while we tour Old Colorado Springs. Then, by that time, we should be hungry again so let’s go to Joseph’s Restaurant and Bar, Rib and Chop House, Lazy Dog or Templeton’s. This depends on the mood you are in. Of course we top it off with dessert at Nothing Bundt Cakes! This is just day one. 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout out will ALWAYS first and foremost go to Pappa, Jesus and Holy Spirit. I am absolutely ecstatic about my relationship with them. Next, my shout out goes to Genesis, my miracle daughter! She is my biggest fan, my push, my natural whisper to keep moving forward and don’t quit. I want to thank my enemies for being the fuel to progress! These people have also played important roles in me being where I am today. The ministry of A Refuge in the City. A great church full of authentic people! There a host of people that if I began to name them, I would run out of space.
