We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
One of favorite affirmations is “Always expect something wonderful to happen.” This was the saying I carried with me on my fertility path through IVF, and it has become a key part of the message I spread to others who are navigating through fertility challenges. Choosing to live in a mindset of possibility, optimism and hope is the kind of energy required if we want to embody (what I call) a “Miracle Mindset.” It’s a belief system and more than that, it’s a way of BEING. When you cast out this mentality of expecting good things to happen, you draw more good into your experience. It’s one of the biggest game-changers that will help shift your mindset and make life that much more FUN!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Becoming a fertility coach supporting women on their IVF journeys was never an initial career path I set out to do. It wasn’t until I experienced fertility challenges firsthand, that I began to see a huge missing gap in supporting individuals with the holistic side of this journey. There was, and still is, little attention given to the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of this ride. I knew I had to be a voice in this space. Being an occupational therapist gave me a unique background from which to draw upon, and I believe it’s one of the key factors that sets me apart from other fertility coaches. The 20+ years of experience working as an OT in healthcare and school settings supporting clients of ALL ages with a variety of challenges helped supply me with the knowledge and knowing that I had what it took to navigate the ride of IVF. Despite all the setbacks, surgeries, and disappointments while holding on for one healthy embryo, I knew that I couldn’t lose myself in the process. It definitely wasn’t easy, yet with all the fear and uncertainty I continued to trust. I focused on what I COULD control — my self care became my top priority. Understanding that this path affects multiple areas of one’s life is key. I encourage others navigating through IVF to consider exploring what areas may be out of alignment. This is where a coach can come in to help guide you with tools and an outside perspective for uncovering hidden areas we can’t always see. Nearly every area of our life is affected by fertility struggles – mental, physical, emotional, social, financial, professional, spiritual. Having someone on your team who has lived this personally and can help guide and support you with the nuances of this path is invaluable. I want others to know that sometimes the pain we experience can lead us to even more beautiful destinations. This path offers a deepened discovery of oneself. I can tell you my fertility struggles have fueled me with an unexpected new purpose. Being a published author of the book, ‘Hold On, Baby,’ the host of the ‘Soulful IVF Podcast,’ and founder of ‘IVF Manifesting a Miracle’ — none of this would have come to be if I had not gone through a personal IVF journey. If you’re on this path, I invite you to reach out – You deserve a better experience through IVF. Sending love to all my Manifesting Mamas.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A trip to the mountains is a must! Being a Denver native, I have my favorite local hangouts, but truly you can have fun nearly ANYWHERE in this beautiful state! We’re so fortunate to have pockets all around the Denver metro area to play and explore. From taking in a concert or hiking at Red Rocks, going to a local sports game, visiting a local brewery, strolling neighborhoods shops and restaurants – It feels like our city is continually evolving. There’s just so much to do!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are MANY individuals who have helped guide me in my personal and entrepreneurial growth. One key individual who supported me immensely last year was Andrea Arledge. She is a soulful guide and shadow coach for women. Others include inspiring women and speakers I’ve had the fortune of connecting with in their communities and personal growth conferences– Kristine Munro, creator of Illume Collective in Denver, Kacia Ghetmiri’s event and podcast, “EmpowerHer,” Samantha Joy’s event “Fempowered,” Brooke Hemingway’s event “Align,” Amberly Lago’s event “Unstoppable,” women from Denver’s HAUS Collective as well as women I’ve met through the Bloom Online Mastermind in Colorado. The list goes on….So much gratitude for the expanders in my life. A few books I’d love to highlight – “Fear is my Homeboy” by Judi Holler, “You Are Worthy of Publicity” by Nicole Myden, “The Art of Bouncing Back” by Darleen Santore, and the “Power of Surrender” by Kute Blackson. I’m still filled with awe that each of these authors have graciously been guests on my podcast, Soulful IVF — Their conversations blew me away.
