We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorinda Gill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorinda, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
I define success by having repeat, loyal clients that have a worry free vacation or business trip each time. They know from my daily updates with pics/videos that everything is being done that was agreed upon by contract. That is my main goal each sitting. Clients that return home to happy, healthy pets and their property exactly as they left it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Here is my professional expertise and services I offer….

As a self professed animal lover, my forte is overnight pet care in the comfort of my clients’ homes/ranches. I specialize in caring for multiple fur babies with high energy (full households) major separation anxiety/extreme nervousness (cannot be left alone), fur babies that have seizures, cancer, physical disabilities, diabetes (require insulin shots). I take on challenging fur babies that many do not have the patience to care for and long term sittings that many pet caretakers are not willing to do. I love my senior or ill fur babies needing extra TLC and/or require medications. Capable and willing to work with dogs or puppies in training. I have a lifetime of experience working with animals (canine, equine, feline as well as other farm animals). I grew up showing horses in 4-H and most recently was the sole caretaker for twenty five rescue horses on a seven acre private ranch. My business is fully insured and I have maintained five star google reviews. My motto is “No client is too tall or too small…I truly love them all!”.

Based in Denver, CO., willing to travel anywhere in Colorado for bookings four days or more depending upon how many animals and work required. More than happy to travel anywhere outside of Colorado in the US and Abroad for bookings ten days or more.

As far as sacrifices made, there are a ton of them! I am away from home most of the time. I work pretty much every holiday. I was unable to have my own fur baby pet until recently because I was so busy caring for everyone else’s fur babies. Now I have a super smart, funny, playful kitten named Babygirl! 💗 She goes to the cat nanny when I am working.

Has all this been easy? Absolutely not! I wear many hats in addition to caring for my fur baby clients. I am a photographer/videographer, researcher for new products or medical technologies that help my four legged clients, web designer, social media guru, marketing/sales executive, public relations specialist, and a white glove housekeeper. Shew…it’s a lot sometimes to find a balance! What makes it all worth it is the time I get to spend with so many different and amazing animals. Their happy, healthy smiles on their faces says it all!

In addition to all this….I love to paint and my muses are my fur baby clients. Contemporary, bright, happy portraits using mainly acrylics. It is therapy that rescues me from all the tedious computer tasks that I like least about my business. I often leave them as little gifts when my clients return. I am available for commission pieces and hope to do a large full outdoor wall mural in the near future. Looking for a space and someone that is interested.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My itinerary to show a friend around from out of town would be to start with a lunch at Sherpa Adventure on Walnut Street in Boulder. They have a beautiful outdoor garden, the food is AMAZING, and the owners/staff are just the best! Been dining here for years now and never had anything but a fabulous experience. Next we would stop by Nomad Bead Merchants a few doors down. I make jewelry and cruise in to snag a few new supplies after I have lunch at Sherpa Adventure. Again, the staff is AWESOME here….it’s an experience for sure if you are a creative person! Ask for Margot!

Heading back to Denver for the evening….next would be going to a Red Rocks show. I actually have yet to go myself….too busy working but want/need to make time for it. Afterwards, enjoy a late night dinner of Pho.

Following morning, grab some breakfast at Snooze Union Station. Depending upon the season….spring/summer….go play some golf at the golf course adjacent to Evergreen Lake and have lunch at Creekside Cellars in downtown Evergreen. They have the best Greek salad EVER plus an amazing selection of wine. Afterwards, check out all the local artists in the downtown galleries. If it is winter…take off snow skiing in Breckenridge, Vail, Aspen or Crested Butte…..so many great ski resorts to choose from! Time to soak in a hot tub!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My first credit would go to my Mother. She is the one to thank for my extensive 4H background in my younger years. I learned the proper, cruelty free ways of training, showing, working with and competing in the horse arena via this wonderful organization. It taught me patience, good sportsmanship, responsibility, resilience, and to always have a sense of humor.

Secondly, I must credit all the animals I have rescued or cared for in my lifetime. I started my first animal rescue on horseback at the age of seven on the 20 acres I grew up on in Texas. People were constantly dumping their unwanted pets around our property. Heartbreaking. Every distressed animal I came across, I helped or tried to help. Still do to this day! I have worked in many shelters which taught me how to relate to and handle highly stressed, extremely anxious and/or injured animals. I use this skill a lot presently since I care for so many pets with these issues. Even wrote a song that I sing to calm my fur baby clients that are super anxious. Animal communication is key with me and luckily they love me for it!

Lastly, I credit my loyal, repeat clients. Many of my clients have been with me now for four going on five years. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to do the work that I love so much. It is an honor to care for someone’s property and their four legged kiddos. An honor to be highly respected and taken very seriously. 🙏
