We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz and Rainer Linnemeyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz and Rainer, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Wozani Farm was created with the intent of bringing people together. ‘wozani’ means to come. In fact, we chose the location because we are right in the middle of town on 5 big acres. So we are in the center of our community, and we like to think a connection place. One that creates and builds relationships.

Community is missing these days, and we’d like to help spread it!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We Love nature! As a farmer, you’d think that was a given, but conventional farming is not all that good for the earth. So we strive for this earth to be around and thriving for our baby’s babies.

We work hard on working WITH the ecosystem, not against it.
As a flower farmer, we are devoted to learning more about native and drought tolerant flowers that hold up well in a vase. Colorado is a desert, and using a lot of water seems tragic. So every year our water needy annual plot gets smaller, and our drought tolerant perennials increase, al the while working on ways to conserve and reduce.

What you can expect from our farm are guided tours, U-pick events, wildflower looking bouquets and arrangements.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A day trip, this is what we’d do. We’d start out on a hike to rabbit mountain early in the morning, it’s one the kids can join in on. Then we’d go home to the farm and make a farm fresh breakfast from our own eggs and bacon. We’d head out to down town frederick where a hidden gem called Josephine and Grace is. It’s a little store that sells the most beautiful american crafted goods. We’d write and mail a letter right from there, then walk over to Peel the local pizzeria, and then, for drinks after go to Rocky Mountain Cowboy Brewery.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to Gina from She Grows Gardens in Arvada, for her fantastic mentorship!
