Meet Liza Degtiarova | Fashion Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liza Degtiarova and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liza, why did you pursue a creative career?
Modeling career lets me bring out my character, my personality, and my spirit. Creativity in modeling is shown through different looks and each one is entirely unique. One picture speaks a thousand words, and I am able to express it through creativity. I get inspired when I work because I am able to do something I feel strongly about, as well as being able to inspire others.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Although I have been it the modeling industry for over a year, I am still very excited about every single project that I get to be a part of. I choose to do projects that I am passionate about and that I share values with. My journey still continues as I am learning more and more while working with strong and inspiring individuals. The beginning of my journey was scary to me, I had a lot of uncertainty. I did not know any photographers, designers, or stylists, but through a lot of networking and more bookings, I started feeling more comfortable. I learned that willingness to be open, positive attitude, as well as embracing yourself for who you are are the key points to success in modeling industry.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Denver is where urban sophistication meets outdoor adventure. I would definitively take them into the mountains first. If it is summer season, then we would do white water rafting in Colorado River for some challenge and zip lining in Royal Gorge for gorgeous views. If it is a winter season, then snowboarding in Breckenridge would be my first choice of activity. In Denver, I would recommend visiting Denver Art Museum, which includes international art pieces. For dining, I would take the to Larimer Square to enjoy award-winning food and beautiful city views.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jonathan Garcia, creative director of the Latin Fashion Week Colorado. He scouted me during Colombian festival in Denver, and that is how my runway experience first started.
